Yup! Second one was a Japanese exclusive and came out shortly after the first one. While continuing the story, it also contains all stages from the first game, hence very few arcades in the West bothered to import one. I only ever saw 2/3 cabs in the flesh.

Kaioh is the ultimate chad level of difficulty. When you get to him, your arms will be very tired as you have to do 100 punches first, then a whopping 150 punches plus a one last punch at the end.

man, I don't think I'll ever get a chance to beat this again; I had my chance probably 10 years ago or so at my friends' place, helping him fix his Punch Mania II... got to Kaiou's second rush and just died. That was the farthest I ever got. What a fun game. 懐かしいなー

You need to train *mad* hard to get that strong. I never had enough time to practice. Best I got was to Hyoh and that was when my local Nickel Nickel had the game for 20 cents. I'm this close to buying my own machine for my house.

Fun fact There are 2p coop and vs.... there has to be a way to connect both under the same game and region. If two players play coop, there are only three courses. Course 1: journey to the death battle (Kenshiro and Rei) Course 2: new legend creations (Ein and Bat) Course 3: Hokuto's ultimate legend (Kenshiro and Raoh)

This is probably the best gameplay vid of this game i have ever seen, you make it look like a piece of cake while it's not. I also have a question, which particular version of Mame you used to make this game run? Plus i would like to see the music of this game extracted and putted on YT because most of the music is awensome

The songs in the game are not originals, but they're from the anime series. Specifically during the final fight against Kaioh you can hear "TOUGH BOY" by TOM★CAT and "Ai wo Torimodose!!" by Crystal King. You should be able to find full versions of both already on KZbin 😉

@@AmetDj I know those, i just wanted the songs during the fight, i mean, when you're fighting the opponent not after you defeated it or when you have to repeatedly punch the pads. I'm sure as heck those aren't from the anime series, aren't they?

@@TotallyNotBreaker Gotcha! Yeah, considering even the famous theme songs were removed from the Western version and replaced with newly composed songs, I'm pretty sure the rest of the soundtrack is also original to this game and not taken from the anime. I'd be cool to have clean files of those.

@@TotallyNotBreaker No official soundtrack has been released as far as I know. Thought the title runs on Konami System 573 arcade hardware, so the game basically comes in a very simple CD. I am not technically savvy enough to say for certain as I wouldn't even know where to start, but I'm sure there must be a way to extract the audio files from the disc itself.

Assuming this emulated game is played on PC, how does he strike without timing indications as this is originally based on the concept.

If you emulate the game on PC, I believe Mame displays some kind of indicator in the middle of the screen showing you when the pads illuminate, so you know when to hit them.

@@AmetDj MAME 0.240 made this game playable. Instead of the game doing this by itself, you now have the white and red squares that pop up on the screen, simulating the pads meaning you can now play the game itself like you would on the arcade.
