Nothing like a random shitpost about Notre Dame to get the blood flowing. It's just like the Fighting Irish itself: Low-effort, surface-level, and irrelevant to the football landscape.

Let’s be real, Notre Dame are the Cowboys of college football. Same rich past, same colossal arrogance, same “we’re going to win it all” mindset every single year, same large amount of fans across the country who aren’t even from where the team plays, and both haven’t done anything of note for over 25 years.

As a Notre Dame fan I know every year we have no chance of winning a championship. We always strive to be good enough but never elite, and it’s maddening. Somehow we think that actually recruiting good quarterbacks is sinful and that we should assemble the best offensive line each season and send them out to waste their talents. The reason why we’ve sucked so much this year is that our offensive line hasn’t been good enough to shield for how bad out quarterbacks are.

I’m a ND fan but also realistic about what the team is capable of. I know that at our best we are a playoff team that’ll get blown out by Alabama like every other fourth ranked team and on an average year we are in the top 10-15 and on a bad year we are really bad. ND just isn’t on par with the big dogs and probably won’t be any time soon

Tree has such amazing timing with these. Last year, my dad died on Monday and he went off on Notre Dame on Saturday after Cincy lost. This year is about the anniversary of that post and on Notre Dame's bye week of all things he posts this. Seriously, man, I root for Notre Dame because my dad rooted for Notre Dame. HE rooted for Notre Dame because he went there. (Started in 1964, left in 1969 after some academic struggles to fight in Vietnam -- my brother insists he enlisted in the Army voluntarily and would not have been drafted otherwise as an only child -- but after getting his bachelor's in Finance returned to South Bend to get his MBA. The primary story I always share about that is that my mom helped Joe Montana get his books first day of the 1975 school year.) And I get that everyone has the right to their opinion, and you back it extremely well. I'll even say that you can legitimately say that Notre Dame fans tend to have a false arrogance I used to equate with Red Sox fans. But the timing just sucks; any other _week in the year_ and I'd have a reasonable response and discourse lined up. THIS week, I'm holding back swears. Probably some other things too (but I blame that on not just sitting down, watching "Field of Dreams" on the actual anniversary and letting it all out). Maybe I'll come in on The Dumpster Fire, make a donation of 19.88, and try to start a conversation, but I'm going to just walk it off for now.

Ikr, to be honest tho who gives two seconds about a school constantly slaughtered up and down the field that everyone thinks should be able to play with the big boys in Bama and Georgia? This is coming from a UF/FSU combo fan. Everyone thinks the big boys are gonna kill us until we give them a game that'll make their fans take a dump in their underwear. All because they have a better rank/record than us. It's stupid how people make this. All I need to say is if they want to be different than what we portray them to be they must prove themselves against an AP top 10 team/actually dominate who they are supposed to. Otherwise they are nothing but 3 leaf clovers. Bad luck.

As a huge fan of notre dame I need to say something that only fans of ND notice after over a decade of watching them. Every team plays a perfect game against us, teams that play terrible the next week or struggle all year tend to come to notre dame knowing that its going to be watched all over the country because its ND. Teams never make mistakes against us and when our play calling on either defense (2014-2018) or on offense (2018 - now) is conservative and terrible we lose tough games. Notre Dame fans are more upset at how the past seasons have gone than you know, and when the idiots in charge put buchner at qb my family and I all said he would lose because hes not all that mobile for being a "mobile" qb and he cant throw for a guy whos "dual threat" not to mention he was constantly injured freshman year and sure enough 1 tackle sent him to the bench for the year.
@Whynotmini
@Whynotmini Жыл бұрын
Not to mention the whole "wow how is notre dame in the playoffs" is BS we've played poor games sure but we kept it closer than the score vs bama who creamed every team that year, and if you wanna say we dont deserve to be there because of our schedule Notre Dame consistantly travels the most miles out of any team and performs just as well if not better than Oklahoma who plays a cakewalk big 12 schedule every year and proceeds to lose by 40 in the playoffs

The Marshall game was a reality check. But we’ve won the last 2 since then and have improved especially in the run game and it finally looks like the offense has an identity. Nothing great is really going to happen this season but it was always going to be a transition year especially after the Kelly situation. Build up a couple more signature wins and then I’ll be confident in us again. Marshall was rock bottom, but we can only go up from here ☘️

I grew up watching Notre Dame and was surrounded by your delusions until like two years ago. I can say from experience that teams do not play perfect, they just play better than your third-rate team. That Texas loss in 2016 was a perfect example. Horrible mess from two mediocre teams. Notre Dame struggles against teams like Toledo, Ball St., and Vanderbilt, and yet you puff up your chests and act so mighty. I revel in the way you all pout after the first loss because you know you have to be perfect against your slate of mid-tier teams to be taken seriously. Enjoy mediocrity. No fanbase deserves it more.

As a Notre Dame fan I know that we get ranked too high every single year and that we have no shot at making or winning the national championship or hell even against top 10 teams. I haven't met a Notre Dame fan that actually thinks we're going to "win it all" or anything like that, it's mostly NBC and the Top 25 rankings that make people believe that we have that mentality.
