It's overall an easier AI than 94, 95 and 98 Rugal. And harder than all later versions in KoF. But in power he is weaker than the 94 and 95 versions, and stronger than all later versions. The Rugals start becoming less challenging since 02.

I wish they'd bring back God Rugal in some form. As a boss fight with his difficulty just turned up to absolutely absurd levels, the lower the recovery, more I frames, just give him everything that makes it unfair. Love those fights so much.

The thing is that God Rugal is a Capcom creation for CvS. So there's nothing like "bring back" in a sense, as he never existed in KoF. But if you mean just the idea of a hardcore boss, it's not coming back. Modern fgs stopped having hard difficulties since the late 00s. It's that "hand holding" game design style that dominates the genre - dont make the kids too frustrated with the difficulty.

the reason was that god rugal was R4 R4 has more damage and more resistance, but it is only for one character R2 is moderate damage and moderate resistance example: if R4 with P-GROOVE MAX to R2 with full health you may be deleted

S groove isn't worst at all. It has dodge and allows dishing out infinite lvl 1 supers at low health. I use it usually on characters with invincibility start up in their supers.

@@PrisonMike196 Snk started becoming soft in the late 90s, and gradually for worse in the whole 00s. One exception - kind of - was Igniz, but KoF 01 is not made by Snk, so... And Magaki is hard, but the whole run isnt (very unlike earlier KoFs). It uses the same model of CvS2 arcade run: everything is easy even on hardest mode, until the mad cheap boss.

Vice is an awesome grappler and Benimaru and King can do some serious damage. The worst characters in this game are probably Todo, Eagle and Chang. Especially Todo since the asshole only has 2 MOVES total. 🤦‍♂️

According to Justin, Todoh and Eagle are B tier. They put in work in tourneys I've watched so seem believable. Todoh's 2 moves are all he needs to be a wall and play keep away as well as parry if they press buttons to break through. Chang is another wall, being an anti air machine due to ball AND, he has annoying Choi assist. I've seen Chang wreck entire teams.

In general Capcom made most Snk chars badly. And it's sad because i like very much some of the chars that were badly done (Kim, King, Ryo, Yamazaki, etc). I have a pretty good KoF experience (being an old school fg player from south america) and remember i couldnt stomach some of them since the first time i saw CvS1.

So my experience in this game If u have a point around or more than 1500 and face god rugal instead shin akuma. God rugal became more trouble than shin akuma. Unless u continue over over again until your point below 900 or 800, then god rugal become more beatable... I don't know the points affect the difficulty or not, but that is what happened to me kekw
