My favorite 3D fighter ever! (And probably my favorite Dreamcast game... yeah. Only played this one in months, along with DOA2.) And your 1:30 introdction montage perfectly nails the fury - and almost everything - I love in this incredible game! I always appreciated the amazing characters animations in the AM2 games, and... Fighting Vipers 2 was no exception, pushing every boundaries in ferocity and creativity, with Charlie being the "zaniest character" created in years! But hey! Aren't all these characters outrageously crazy sexy cool? Man! I love their moves, holds and armour explosions, I love these dramatic hyperdynamic angles, and... I love those panty shots!! ^o^

A huge step back I would say, while the double guard impact was not used as it should, the chara design of the characters is much less good. My references Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers, more innovative than megamix, more equitable fighting too.

@@leo197777 Nope. The design of the characters is much better looking. Kinda seems they would not be out of place in Jet Set Radio, which is cool. Plus the graphics are better and more beautiful. And the gameplay is more complex, deep and satisfying in FV2 as well.

I dont like the habit of sega not create endings for the characters. With its end you would see the characters otherwise, not like dolls that are fighting.

@@jeremyriley1238 its what makes you appreciate the Namco arcade ports so much. They went the extra mile and beyond with Tekken series and Soul Edge/Calibur. You really got a lot of value for your buck with those home ports

Totally agree. As much as I love Sega, that aspect of them deserves to be criticized. Endings, as well as some kinda campaign mode would have been incredible in Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter.

I wouldn't... In VF characters are mostly a representation of a specific martial art, Fighting Vipers characters simply wouldn't fit, there's Fighters Megamix for that.

I wish it was. No offense to VF or it's fans, I like it, but Fighting Vipers has always seemed like a more fun version of VF to me. If you asked me if I wanted to play Fighting Vipers or Virtua Fighter 2, I would say Fighting Vipers every time.

I imported this game years ago to play on my American Dreamcast. I got a US system, cause PAL sucks at 50Hz. Japanese Dreamcast were pretty expensive, and I still wanted to play translated games.

King Jae What a surprise seeing you here indeed! Pretty much the other reply makes sense in terms of gameplay lol. It is a very interesting fighting game, and the first ever 3D fighting game to incorporate walls. Has some surprising resemblances to Tekken (and naturally Virtua fighter) as well. Give it a shot, it is quite funny!

It's similar to vf series, you can dodge straight attack but you need to press pkg together its very inconvenient But sega upgraded this system to vf 4 then it became very popular Poor fighting vipers....

@@lunairepierrot5420 Virtua Fighter 4 included the entire Fighting Vipers team. About the dodge move, Fighter Megamix used a dodge button straight from Virtua Fighter 3. Just pressing the direction opposite to straight and some half-circular attacks were indeed a big improvement.

@@TippotipoMost of the peopel treated vf3 as a spinoff since vf 1 2 didn't have dodge button and the landscape of the stage were sometimes not fair since player might have chance to dodge mid attack by press down when they were on slope... That's why they adjusted the dodge system after fv 2.

MrSchmiggi It indeedly has some surprising resemblances to Tekken. Like with Honey when you tap up left (b~u), she does a little backflip to gain distance. Lars does the EXACT same thing with the same command even! Generally a lot of moves bear resemblances to Tekken (and obviously Virtua Fighter), very odd indeed. I really give credit to the Fighting Vipers team, because for as far as I'm concerned, this was the first ever 3D fighting game to incorporate walls, no other game did this at the time. Props to Harada for making Tekken 3 a completely different game too!

Released in JAP and PAL, but *not* in North America. Not sure why ... other than the fact that Dreamcast had totally failed by 2001 in the U.S. Only a handful of primarily Japanese games were brought over to the U.S. in 2001, and even the ones that came over like Giga Wing 2 ... how many copies of that did they manufacture to sell in the U.S., a few hundred? Some weird decisions were made by Sega of America in 2001 ... I think there was more money to be made, and more Sega-lovin gamers to satisfy.

@@iPlaySEGA thank you. Actually I heard about it, so I tried yesyerday. Using the armor break input first. F, B, F, B, PKG. But this command seems to work on fight 1 2 3 4 then, impossible to do it again. I tried for one hour and gave up just finishing the game normally. Any hints ? the command have to be done slowly, fast, or very fast ?

@@neddyf00 I had no problems to enter the command but the tricky part is, you have only ONE chance per round. If the enemy evades, block or counter, it's gone. The good news is, you can do it already in the first round. No need to wait for the 2nd round. BTW if i remember correctly, you don't have to do all super KO's in one sitting. Just make a list, which of the six super KO's you already have seen and concentrate on the one you miss.

There was a sequel to Fighting Vipers on the DC ? The more you know... The game did not age very well tbh. I think SEGA should've dropped the Vipers and gone for a successor to Last Bronx instead. At least the latter had decent character designs, but that's just my personal opinion

I can see why this sequel didn't get as much attention as the original. While some of the updates in the fighting are good, the character designs (especially for the new characters) looked more ridiculous than the first game and the OST is absolute garbage in comparison too. It's a shame though that Sega essentially gave up on their non-VF fighters, this series and Last Bronx deserved a lot more.
