Tekken was chess then, now we got checkers.

I like the enthusiasm you have for OG Tekken. The only time most of us feel this way post Tag 2 is when someone gets bodied in a tournament or a weird call happens after a controller dc. T6 was as fun to play as it was to watch and people underrate it. I don't see Namco going back to this design philosophy since T7's popularity and hype gave them the wrong idea. Still nice to look back at when gimmicks were at a minimum compared to now cause you can see the neutral being so much better. There was also real oki even without being near walls and mind games played a bigger role since you had no armor or heat smash to rely on.
@fightinggm2 күн бұрын
I love the fact it was all about solid ground game and u had to have actual neutral to compete. Now it's all about 5050s and alot of luck with comeback mechanics and other silly nonsense to worry about

Throws were hard ash to break in T6 & Tag 2

I think Tekken was fine with just the rage mechanic, but now it kind of feels bloated with heat, rage arts, installs and long ass combos where literally there's no "fighting" for like 10-12 seconds. Just somebody watching themselves get juggled until they basically have to make one more guess to save their life.
@DailyDoseofPets9112 күн бұрын
I remember this back in the day. I watched this live haha. My favorite is still you in mlg whooping Knee ass you broke him man. Remember they used to call him the machine? You broke him and he finally showed emotion and he finally beat you at that weird world tourney and he shouted haha
