I went to school with James Polodna - the Aussie guy - for a couple of years. Always wondered what happened to him. He was actually an excellent soccer player when he was a kid. One of the best for his age. He also had a reputation as someone you didn't want to tangle with even back then so I'm not surprised he became a professional fighter.

Did they really have to splice the video with scenes of animal deaths. I'm trying to watch a video about an mma gym and I don't need to see a bull getting stabbed in the head out of nowhere. It's almost like the people who made this video still view MMA like human cockfighting or something and are trying to portray it in a grotesque manner.
@grahamvandyke10 жыл бұрын
Mikey Nankoff ...are you serious? There are a TON of rules in place during an MMA fight of what you can't do to your opponent. "whatever means possible" does not apply here dude.
@grahamvandyke10 жыл бұрын
It's called MMA. Mixed Martial Arts. Just because an MMA fighter has more tools to use than a boxer doesn't mean that the intention is different, it's exactly the same. They're trying to put away their opponent.
@grahamvandyke10 жыл бұрын
Mikey Nankoff You just explained the exact reason why boxing is so dangerous. The guy can DECIDE to keep fighting when he's hurt. In MMA they'll stop the fight.
@grahamvandyke10 жыл бұрын
Mikey Nankoff You are living in outer space dude. Of course real fighting can get more serious with weapons and shit, but MMA is "as real as it gets" as an accepted mainstream sport.
@grahamvandyke10 жыл бұрын
Mikey Nankoff No, it's exactly the same for MMA. Amateur MMA bouts are called off even earlier if you're in trouble.

The music that starts at 11.27 is so serene. It goes perfectly with the video. MMA is so much more than just fighting. So much passion, dedication, and glory behind it. Can't even put it into words. Love this video. So motivating.

Totally feel you there. A lot of people really didn't seem to understand that GSP vs Diaz not only re-exposed Diaz wrestling weaknesses but even more exposed how GSP will not take a single risk even if it's handed to him. He knew Diaz tricks when people take his back, so he didn't even try. He just held on to the Greco Roman hold and literally dominated him by holding him down. I give credit to that combo breaker jab too...but also, no risk in striking showed in the least.

The comraderie amongst these guys is extraordinary. It might be what’s missing amongs young men these days. I wonder how it can be recreated for guys who can’t fight at that level but could use the direction, discipline and friendship. So many guys are falling into addiction, unemployment and isolation it’s not just an epidemic it’s a pandemic. Fucking tired of seeing guys in court wondering how their lives got so off track. They don’t belong in court, they belong somewhere like this. If anyone has any ideas as to how this can be achieved for non serious fighters I’m all ears. I’d do anything to make this happen near me if I could.

@toomuchtruth8 жыл бұрын
Alex Sung I just think it makes no sense. Most guys don't have any hope of becoming pro and making a decent living wage for it. If you're just doing it for fitness and self development, how beneficial is having your body destroyed towards that cause? It's just short sighted and fucking dumb. Better to maybe learn a bit slower but preserve yourself for your actual work & all else in life.
@alexsung41598 жыл бұрын
Yeah their excuse is like.. it was a sparring. Bullshit u went crazy hard on purpose. It is true when u hit someone HARD, they become hslesitant so you blget the advantage to pick better shots off the guy... But that's with an agreement to go hard. These guys are pros but there are aaalot of dudes who can't control their emotion when they spar.. and i can see why many ppl try mma or thai boxing for first time and they don't come back. Its fucking stupid. I agree
