Wow this is the first time I watched fight network since they totally tanks their network by firing Rob in black in the bookie beat down guys. Basically the best part of the fight network and the best break down man in the history of mixed martial arts in Robin black.
@betsyrocks7 жыл бұрын
I miss the old Fight Network content. Pollock, Ramdeen & Black. Paul & Cody from Bookie Beatdown. Hell, I even miss Gabe Morency's always loud, often annoying rants.
@jjmcewan18307 жыл бұрын
Same here, i really believe if a good network (or if they just pursued their own podcast) Paul & Cody could've taken the bookie beat down pretty far. Extremely high quality material you don't really come across frequently or at all...Unfortunately for whatever reason it just didn't become all that popular but the people who did watch it every episode knew what was up.

I am definitely not one to hate on people. But truthfully speaking, A. Helwani does not deserve any sympathies. He knowingly pushes the boundaries. He made Joanna "Champion" cry on stage and leave the room. He has always tried to create "shock" value at the fighter's expense. When he interviewed Conor, Conor became short with him as he kept asking unnecessary personal questions that aren't relevant. Schaub is indeed the "polar opposite" of A. Helwani, and that makes me respect Schaub very much. Please never try to hurt people just to make a good story.

Brendan Schaub seems like a stand up guy, I don't know him personally but I've seen a few of his podcasts & interviews, and it seems like the haters are just trolls. He knows his shit when it comes to fighting and to top it all off he's humble and very well spoken.

Good for Schaub though. We all bitch and complain about the UFC's treatment of fighters and about Dana White, but he actually stepped out of all of it and made a pretty great career out of something he loves even more than fighting. More fighters should try to be happy without the UFC. That'll teach them.

I was at the show, and it was great. One thing that surprised me a little was how low the average age of the audience was. I was one of the oldest people there, and I'm not that old. If anyone can offer an explanation for the audience being mostly young (35 and under I'd say) adults, post them below.

Brendan would be more tolerable if he admitted that Callen brought him into this shtick. I really don't see how he would have made it without Bryan Callen. He latched on to that click and done very well with the ride. Good on him. Other than that he was just a punching bag for the UFC HW division.

"In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Brenden Schaub. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there." -Kenny Florian

Anyone with enough heart will and talent can be a ufc champ. Tim sylvia, Paul buentello, Brock lesnar, and even randy couture beat chuck, tito and sylvia. The ufc has a history of making paper champs, but in Boxing, you need a full LIFE! of Boxing to be great. The ufc got smart, and instead of having their champ lose, like liddell, rousey, lesnar, etc, they got Smart and denied aldo a rematch, no title defenses, no nate rematch, and sold a money grab fight. Mayweather fought the big show in wrestling, and won. .. this is not much different.
