"What do you respect about your opponent"? WTF!!! This has to be the most inappropriate question asked of these two during the whole of fight week! Dude, they're going to be fight! We don't want to hear about how much they respect each other, they don't want to talk about how much they respect each other! What in the World posses a journalist to think that's a good question to ask??? I don't even have a journalism degree, and even I can recognize what a ridiculous question that is at this time! Get a grip mate, pick up your game, and please think through your questions before asking, for the sake of MMA fans World wide!!!
@Livevil991210 жыл бұрын
Its MMA, Martial arts is BUILT on respect. Anyone who knows anything about it would know that. THATS what makes it a good question to ask.
@treyjah110 жыл бұрын
That is a odd question to ask few days before the fight...
@treyjah110 жыл бұрын
It odd because some times I feel like a reporters ask a question that is a dead give away to who they want to win .The right question can be mind altering ... look in another interview one reporter ask the question "what are you gonna do if you lose" then immediately before either fighter could reply directed DC to answer first
@ibewillow10 жыл бұрын
its a great question. what do you think would happen if one of them said they had no respect for their opponent. do you think maybe that might spice up the interview. he was fishing for another argument, could you not see that ?
@Mike8113910 жыл бұрын
ibewillow His "fishing" attempt was poor, evidenced by the fact that it didn't work. Being explicit would have been the better option, he should have asked: What do you Dislike about each other? In this case being cryptic just resulted in an awkward situation for the fighters and everyone involved. Further, it kills fight hype. I prefer the up-front direct approach. Be a man and ask for what you want, don't play silly games and ruin it for everybody!

Like DC said, the two guys have had so much success each, both in and out of MMA. This was the only UFC fight ever between two guys both on a 10 fight win streak, ever. Definitely the first title fight. Why it had to go the way it did... well, controversy sells, JJ can't help himself from being a twat and polarizing people, and DC just wouldnt stand for it. Personally I think this was the best interview leading up to the fight. I feel like all the tension and hyped gave DC an adrenaline rush and it all dumped in the third (round about the time of the eye poke). Boom, boom, boom, JJ keeps his cool, mentally out lasts the challenger. Better luck next time DC. You WILL have another shot (after Rumble of course).
