Awesome video. Another option opposed to instinctually turning to face your opponent when they get this angle, which is the first reaction usually, is to occupy the space that they just vacated. For example if they go to your right from being in front of you and get the T stance then you can step forwards and pivot into their previously occupied space to place yourself in a better position defensively. Thanks for all the coaching, love the amount of martial arts knowledge being shared globally these days.

it's good enough to practise, But The most difficult thing it get this skills it's in a combat or sparring, the problems is when the other person see you and start to move too. You need to cover this movement with something like a hit or a trick, for me it's the only way, or You're wating for the other try to do anything...and sunddenly you move around. Anyway thanks for sharing it's really good content.

Look at vasyl lomachenko, when he creates the 90° he puts his gloves over his opponents vision slots (boxing gloves remember) the whole way. Also he enters the move by leaning on his front foot to switch legs off of then finishing with a pivot step on the lead leg, thats how he travels so much distance around the opponent without them even knowing.

There's a problem , I tried it before in boxing , when you use that kind of footwork , your opponent can still just back away and turn facing towards you. Your opponent is not gonna just stand right there , while you shift to another angle, they will watch you and try to hit you. This kind of angle shifting footwork usually works when you're trapped in a corner , where your opponent has limited space to move , and he's only facing forward.

I have a question I've been learning martial arts for some time although I'm not the type of person to start fights and it actually takes a lot to trigger me into fighting outside of class but there are situations where people have laid hands on me at work but i've signed a contract to not physically engage and its really frustrating because my instinct are confused on when I can defend myself. Like tonight I had some fucker push me at the store i work at and I was struggling internally whether I should have gone at him and all I could do is verbally try to get the guy to leave whereas attacking him would have been so much easier for me but in my head I knew I would have looked bad and likely would have been given shit or gotten fired but the more they are allowed to push me the more im worried im losing my instincts to fight and defend myself. To me I'm giving these guys a free shot. I was wondering if anyone has had to deal with similar situations and how you deal with it and also the anger.
@JohnSmith-wi8oh5 жыл бұрын
I’m a pretty laid back guy so I don’t know if this will of any help to you. So I generally just stay neutral and not show hostility even when I’m seething since I tell myself that they’re not worth the effort in a superiority complex manner. If they’re someone I know and they crossed a line and I’m too mad to care, I would “playfully” beat them up. I would do something like under hook an arm and repeatedly punch them in the side and jaw lightly. They don’t get hurt but the underlying message is clear: I can and will hurt you if you don’t cut it out. Hopefully this helped you

What If your slower and you always feel like they opponent sees through the sidestep. I found out that if you just move your back leg clockwise u get almost the same result but faster. (More easy too use on aggressive opponents) But for me it toke time before I got the timing right and also more easy if u set it up. Like one step back then back feet clockwise. Or taunt / attack then side step the response 😂 mixing it up LMAO my English sucks 😂😂

@fighttips5 жыл бұрын
Of course, my friend! My message was not meant to highlight religion, but simply to share concepts within Buddhism. In fact, many religions, Christianity included, share similar beliefs that help to strengthen dedication and focus. You are in good company, as there are countless world-class fighters who share your faith. Wishing you all the best in your martial arts training and journey 😊🙏
@kennethduff64425 жыл бұрын
Brother I'm a Christian too, the way I look at it is as long as Christ is first in everything we do is what matters as a Christian. But when it comes to fighting it doesn't matter what there faith is, anybody has the ability to fight regardless. Im a boxer love combat sports but I don't like to street fight because victimizing someone is ungodly. But in sport competition there is no hate towards my opponent, just a physical sport. It's the way I personally deal with boxing as a Christian myself not trying to butt in what you and Shane we're talking about I just thought I'd add that in as a Christian. My passion for boxing is extraordinary but Christ should come first and above all speaking as a Christian. Non-christians may not understand what I'm saying or agree but I hope this helps you

Dude, I can make this work in sparring, and some of Loma's other moves like the blind, knocking down the guard etc, and I'm not even that good. Lomachenko is a genius in boxing movement, but that doesn't mean his techniques are magic, or that they can't be applied at a lower skill level. What they're teaching here is considered fairly basic boxing footwork.
