As someone who's shamefully been arrested for DUI, I can say that it's not okay. I should have never got behind the wheel that night. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but I learned my lesson the hard way. I've pretty much quit drinking now and will never do something like that again. The consequences are too great, it's just not worth it. Please do not drink and drive people. My heart goes out to anyone who's lost someone to a drunk driver, especially the young man fighting here. There's unlimited suffering for everyone involved, nobody wins in these scenarios.

This is what it looks like when two skilled fighters are showing their respect for each other through their art. It's the equivalent of a breakdance battle that builds both of them up rather than breaking each other down. A fight is a fight, but this is what "play" looks like when you have a fighter's heart! Well done, both of you. I was feeling it!

Only annoying thing was the guy constantly calling for liver shots. This wasnt a real fight, it was a technical exhibition. They were obviously holding back and not going even 1/3rd full power on each other so why keep calling for liver shots. Liver shots are serious, they didnt want to hurt each other like that, the guy was just trying to sound like a corner man.

Thank you Shane for sharing this public exhibition match. It's obvious that you both are real skilled fighters and some guys see the footage and don't realize It's only an exhibition match And if you both want it to draw blood and go for the knockout, you both could do so. It's great to see that you were able to share the footage on KZbin and just not on Instagram. Shane, I have a lot of respect for you as you seem like a real stand up guy! Marcus, if you are reading this, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's very painful to lose a loved one. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Thanks again guys!

I see there's some keyboard warriors trying to sound hard, calling this not even a "sparring" session. Wtf? Sparring includes no contact, light contact, medium contact and hard contact. This was a technical fight, not a brawl, and no the intention wasn''t to destroy each other just for the sake of it, but you can still take one of those kicks or walk into a punch and be stunned or injured even. Great displays of skills from both of you, very high level contest, and I have no doubt that none of the ones criticising had done half as well. Would love to see more videos like this Shane, though I know this is only once in a while. This was a fight but more of a technical fight than a brutal slugfest, the ones with Juji, Alex Wong and Faze Sensei, those were sparring more than "fights"; all of it shows the ability to adapt and apply the techniques and strategies in a combative context. Great video, only way it could have been better would have been with commentary and replays. :) Actually Shane... if you'd like I can at some point edit a version like that of this fight to share on my channel, but only if you'd like that. Anyways, much respect to both of you. Hope you raised a nice sum and that this has spread awareness, such a tragic event but life goes on as it has to. Peace :)

@VestigialHead7 жыл бұрын
+Stephen T I hope so to. But it is pretty unlikely that a campaign will have much effect. It is just human nature that there will be people who are ignorant or stupid enough to get very impared and then drive. Until we change over to completely driver-less cars I fear there will still be deaths from this. The problem with a campaign is that it is usually only the people who are smart enough not to drive high that actually take notice. The offenders are usually too self obsessed or have very low levels of empathy so do not care.

Thank you to Shane and Marcus for being willing to make it so that I could see this fight. When I heard about these two having a match, exhibition or not, I was psyched! Then it was announced that it would be streamed on Instagram and I was even more thrilled. Both fighters showed amazing control, something that's not emphasized enough in the martial arts community, and technique. I was so glad to see this fight since these are two of my favorite martial arts guys on the internet. Shane: Thank you so much for teaching me to open my mind about other martial arts and what they teach since when I started Krav Maga I was like many of the misguided practitioners in that system and believed that Krav Maga was the "best" system. Watching your videos allowed me to realize that the "best" system is entirely dependent on the person at that point in their life. Marcus: Thank you for all you've taught me, and thank you for making me more aware of charities like Liam's Life and how much WE can do. I was always against drunk driving of course, but yours was the first time I felt like really contributing in any kind of meaningful way. So thank you once more. Oh, and by the way... Seriously, to everyone who is sitting on their ass trying to claim that this is light sparring: Learn the definition of the word exhibition. Not necessarily the phrase "exhibition match", seeing as how that might be too much to grasp for some of the keyboard warriors out there, but at least the word. Knowing that would at the very minimum inform you that this fight was a friendly display for people to enjoy and not a full fledged attempt to hurt each other.

This is so BEAUTIFUL to watch; I know it's an exhibition fight where both of these guys are not going to fight all out with full power and try to ''WIN''! kudos to both these guy for putting on a great show. Good technique and so clean. Watched this several times trying to learn something new and take points. Exhibition fights are like sparring with a bit more intensity!

There's something about the fluidity of high level kickboxing that is so unlike every other combat sport. Great exhibition, great cause.
