Hey Chet You can do a whole bunch of things apart from just buttons. Some common examples that you can build with auto layouts are Navbars, Menus (hamburger, side nav etc), search bars, cards like on Instagram, bottom sheets & popups, mason grids, fully responsive layouts of app etc. Ideally, anything that you can create a component out of (means has a repeatable pattern) and has dynamic content to it can be used with the Auto layout. Can you point the timestamp of the video here? Figma has moved around a lot of controls so I am not really sure which resizing options are you referring :)

Thanks once again Akash for a wonderful video. I have 2 questions please. 1. Should the element be in a frame before auto-layout can work? 2. For repetition, do i duplicate the the primary element with auto layout? does the auto layout feature apply to the duplicated element? Thanks.

Hey 1.Yes, auto layout only works with frame, so your element needs to be in the frame for auto layout to work. 2. If you duplicate a frame that has auto layout applied to it, it will duplicate the auto layout properties as well. Same thing also goes for components, if you repicate a component with autolayout, it will inherit the auto layout properties as well.✌️✌️
