Interesting use of variables. I could imagine this eventually having functionality to sync with spreadsheets. Also, what dictation app are you using?

I love your content, I have learned several interesting things from your channel. I'm learning Figma to design web and mobile pages. I'm trying to make a design system, to design faster. I am using collections, tokens, components, and variables. I'm trying to organize my design system as best as possible, and I'm still learning a lot. It would be helpful advice on which components should never be missing. Also, How is the basic structure of a design system? Thank you for the valuable content you have on your channel.

Miurellgonzal, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your enthusiasm for the content on my channel. It's inspiring to see your commitment to learning Figma and your efforts in building a design system. Creating a design system is a vital step towards more efficient and consistent design work, especially in the realm of web and mobile design. As for essential components, your design system should definitely include key UI elements like buttons, input fields, dropdowns, navigation bars, and modals. These are the cornerstone elements for most interfaces. Alongside these, ensure you have clear guidelines for typography and color schemes, as they are critical in maintaining a cohesive visual language. In terms of the structure of your design system, begin by establishing your design tokens (like colors, fonts, and spacing). Then, build up from the smallest reusable components such as buttons and icons, to larger components like forms and navigation menus, and finally to templates and page layouts, which demonstrate how your system comes together in actual projects. Here's a small tip to enhance this process: Dedicate some time to create mock designs of specific websites or applications that resonate with your design aspirations. This practical exercise will help you identify and reuse key assets and components, effectively making them the foundational building blocks of your design system. This approach not only saves time but also ensures that your system is tailored to the kind of designs you aim to produce. Remember, a design system is a dynamic entity. It should grow and adapt with your projects. Regularly updating and refining it based on new insights and feedback is key. Best wishes, Matthew Sear
