Figo was better than Cristiano Ronaldo when they both were at Sporting no question. Figo was one of those players who was already world class at a young age. He was a naturally a better dribbler and stronger and had incredible footballing IQ. Manuel Sanchis once remarked that Figo was harder to mark than Diego Maradona. If Figo had stayed at Barcelona I think he could of been regarded better than Cr7. At Madrid he got injured and he was not properly utilised due to preference given to the more inconsistent but sublime Zidane. Figo underachieved. He could of been a top 10 ever. Some critics even say he was overrated - he was actually underrated. A gem of a player who was actually incredibly consistent in his peak years.

Não só velocidade, mas a posição. Principalmente na época a função de um ala era simplesmente chegar à linha e cruzar. Havia menos incentivo para ir em direcção à baliza.
