I just wanna say, you are such a great professor. I’m taking a drawing class and I’ve never ever drawn people before. And my professor basically told me to teach myself how to draw. So here I am, binge watching your videos. You’re great! I appreciate your work so much.

I really enjoy these shorter but very content and instruction rich videos. I can fit them in just about any day and they don't overwhelm me with more than I can absorb and focus on. The material shared is practical and practicable. Once again, outstanding work and so appreciated. You make me believe I can do it.

I found this video extremely helpful, as an absolute beginner. I am seventy years old and health issues have suddenly forced me to find some sedentary pastimes. I decided to give drawing a go. I’ve found your tuition very satisfying and feel inspired to give it my best shot, as they say. Thank you.

Your videos are absolutely brilliant, I am thankful I came across your channel. Please don't stop making these clear and concise beauties. The way you see art and can articulate details for the mind to easily understand is mind bending. I have learned more by your videos than I have in any art class I have taken.

Hello Richard, I wanted to express how helpful you've been. A couple of weeks ago I was thrust into learning animation with no prior experience. I've come along quickly with your help. I understand anatomy and physiology can be intimidating; however, I've noticed when you use terms scapular, latissimus dorsi, etc.. it gives me the boost to quickly catch up without having to watch your precise movements because A&P classes and years of weight lifting become helpful. I suspect I'm not alone. On the other hand, word's like "rhythm" are starting to make sense, despite them originally being a sudden wall of, "what is he talking about?" Thank you for your assistance and I would recommend you to anyone on either side of that experiential fence.

First. Thank you. So much. So, I’m just getting started with developing my artistic skills..but.. Would you please share more detail on the BASICS of the basics..? Like, for charcoal/newsprint… like what kinds of charcoal instruments do you use..pencils or other things..? What’s good sharpening techniques…? any other tips knowledge you might could think of to share for a beginner who is realistic inclined with sketching. Maybe…anything that naturally probably just comes to you as second nature for your process now but is foreign to the naive - yeah, that stuff 🙃 PS I’ve explored a good but, I’m not sure if you have a video that fits this request already [if so please let me know.. I watched and took to heart your most important lesson video already, got some large newsprint and charcoal & been mindful on drawing from shoulder]

I've covered all the above in other videos on my channel, from the tools I use to the most basic process. Maybe start with the Figure Drawing Fundamentals videos if you haven't already. I talk aboout materials etc in the the Drawing Toolbox video. Hope that helps.

Great lessons! I already have experience in drawing, but trying to go back to the basics again! Do you have any tutorials on the geometrical shapes of the body/bodyparts? And are there any books you recommend on drawing, figure drawing, anatomy??? Also on a bit more advanced level? Hope to hear from you!! Thanks :)

Is this anatomically correct and how should such a design decision be evaluated from an academic point of view? Were such decisions also made in famous pictures of realism? I don't know much about drawing, I just want an assessment from someone who does.

This confuses me... My calf doesn't go past my knee and I've not seen that on the references. Is this an exaggerated design choice? It looks great and is very visually interesting. You obviously have the expertise to back up the instruction I'm just not completely understanding I guess.
@s40984293 жыл бұрын
The bulkiest part of the calf muscle isn’t above the knee, just the connection to the knee.
