Just got the NECA '62 and '64. Love them both!! Really awesome sculpts for the price. I don't have a problem with them not being able to look up with the heat beam in their mouths. He usually shoots downward anyway.

SHMA for the head & face Neca for the body The perfect 1962 Godzilla would be a combination of SHMA's head and Neca's body. With a little bit of white paint on the plates and nails

I love my Neca figures. I know the SH figures have more articulation but with that I find they have very unsightly gaps, particularly in the thighs that really bother me. That and I really don’t need my figures to have that amount of articulation.

Neca is better: said almost everyone Shma Kingoji: has more accurate face sculpt, has sort of a hunched appearance and isn't standing upright like a person, actually has knees, and has his hands in a way that looks like his thumb is on the other side of his hand or that his pinky finger is spread apart from his other fingers... like in the movie and also has much better dorsal plates that are perfectly painted and look amazing

The sh ma should have won scale and paint because the neca has more paint slob on the dorsal plates and its to big with other Godzilla’s like godzilla 1962 is supposed to be 162 FT but its taller than the 2019 which is 393 feet the scale in the figures is not right.

I don't have either, yet. But I've been researching and the SH MonsterArts one seems to scale better with the Raymundo 62 Kong. (Which is the main thing you'd want it to scale with, obviously.) Could be wrong though, since I don't have them yet. I would love to get the cheaper one, but I'm going for what scales best, first.

Usually SH Monsterarts are more film accurate but with the 62 KingGoji NECA is right up there in appearance. Very close and you can find screenshots from the film that supports both figures. I'll go with NECA though because it looks like the actual suit (with folds and sags) used in the film. Monsterarts figures tend to be leaner than they appeared in the movies. Anyway I'm 3 months late but I just wanted to post my thoughts :)

I didn't own any neca figures but got the 1962 based on all the glowing reviews. Let me say that I am disappointed. I guess it's my fault for not realizing but his skinny waist looks so silly. He looks like one of these girls with a big ass and a liposuction waist. I don't own the 1962 shma but the 1964 I own is infinitely better than this. The sh is more of a work of art and the neca is just a toy. The grain alone is significantly more sophisticated. If the 1962 is anywhere close in quality I would have to assume it's lightyears ahead.

Hey Steven! I suddenly really want an accurate 54 figure, and up until two minutes ago I thought only the SHMA and Bandai Premium poster color version figured were my only options, till I was scrolling around eBay and found out Sakai sculpted an 11" 54 mold for banpresto back in 2002! They're priced pretty reasonably for the quality of the sculpt and their size, most coming down to around $60-$80, and most being used but looking like they're in good condition. Before I impulse buy and snag one of them, are there any other figures I should be aware of? Or is there anything I should know about purchasing a SHMA 54 or the new bandai poster color 54 at a price below $120?
