Z, I know you love a great price to performance ratio product. I hope you'd be interested in the $40 Tempotec Sonata HD Pro, the OEM rebrand of Hidizs S8. They're regarded to perform better than most of the dongle DACs in its price and higher priced included. Doesn't power much but they can be upgraded with an amp perhaps.

+Z Reviews Great video ty. Out of all dacs though, what would you say is the best quality dac for primarily a Note 10+/20 ultra (if possible to use with pc, even better but not necessary but bass boost would be fantastic), loudest, best sounding that lasts a long time? So tired of the low volume issue with Galaxy phones. Are there any that simultaneously charge, like the moshi dac which im told does charge simultaneously?

there's an aspect where the 3k is actually superior to the 5, and it's how the dual-DACs are wired up relative to the single-ended connection. On the 5 only one DAC is powering the single-ended connection but on the balanced connection, the other DAC turns on, giving you a DAC for the left channel, and a DAC for the right channel. On the 3k, they changed it up a bit so that both DACs are on regardless if you're using balanced or single-ended.

Hey Zeos, I have a BTR3 and I can adjust the volume on it independently from my phone like with the ES100. I use a Note 10+ and the Sound Assistant app to change the step volume on my phone. I can't remember if it's always worked this way but I just went through my phone settings and couldn't find anything that would explain why it works for me but not you. 🤷♂️ I love my BTR3 and use it every single day. I'm not crazy about the plastic shell with the clip on the new BTR3k instead of it being part of the unit. To me it seems a lot bulkier although being able to adjust the orientation on the unit could be useful.

hey I am asking this because it seems here is a good place to get an answer. I am looking for a option to have bt for a pair of dt 770 pro 80 ohms, that is cheaper than the btr 5. I am not certain about if the btr3k can run those, because those specs about mW, db, kHz are confusing for me. I was only looking for the impedance rating and just by that the btr3k would be enough, but it seems there is more behind that. Or is there an even "cheaper" / better tailored option for this pair only, that would be also working for nintendo switch?(yeah, but the 770s are to expensive to ignore the option to use it for everything) As for a suggestion for this review, since the btr3k has a mic, could you include a sample recording in the video? As for the rest of the video, I have enjoyed watching it, lots of input.

So, the brt3k is basically a btr5 but cheaper, or is there something missing from the 3k that the 5 has?
@thinkhector3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. The BTR5 does NFC pairing with Android phones. (Funnily enough the old BTR3 had these feature but it was removed). The biggest difference between the BTR5 and BTR3K will come if you used them wired in DAC mode. The BTR3K is a Class 1 DAC, so nothing more than CD quality. The BTR5 is a Class 2 audio DAC. It will reveal itself when playing high res music files over a wired connection. One small side note, the BTR3K will work with the Nintendo Switch, and the BTR5 will not. I mean they both work if you are doing Bluetooth just not in DAC (wired) mode.

They are supposed to be doing it, just a matter of when. But 2.5 is little worrisome, but worried 4.4 might make the unit too big? Maybe not. Qudelix 5k, is the other unit btw, one of the engineers of the es100 made it. But yeah I'm waiting for the btr5 upgrade. In your last review. I asked btr5 or zen dac. You asked desk or portable. It's actually portable but inside home. Laptop and phones but for chilling around in the couch and bed. I have kph30i. Will buy an iem (probably tin p1 or bqeyz spring 2 which has piezo ceramic tweeter) and in a year or so will buy sundara or koss esp95x as endgame. I don't want to invest in other dac and amp. You must've missed this comment that's why I re wrote it.
