I purchased these about 6 weeks ago and everything you say is spot on. For the price, it’s really top notch and perhaps better than any other similar IEM’s. But that 8k spike in the freq response does present itself when you least expect it. However, it’s not a big deal. And it’s funny that you compared the Fiio’s with the KBEAR Diamonds. I have the iBasso IT01’s which is a single DD like the Diamond’s. The iBasso’s have a lot of authoritative bass and it’s really, really solid. The upper bass flows nicely into the midrange and the treble , although not as detailed and extended as the FHS1’s, is very smooth and articulate. I tend to go back and forth between the two quite a bit but in my opinion, the IT01’s and the FHS1’s are among the best within their price range. Some days I want punch and midrange smoothness from the IT01’s - other days I want a balanced and clean sound from the FHS1’s. It’s all good!

I always slide the chin slider as far up the cable towards the IEMs as I can before I wind them up on my fingers when I’m putting them away. Stops any major tangling in my experience. If the cable doesn’t have a chin slider I improvise one from a small loop of double sided Velcro strip.
