I have the Shure SE845 mk1 which I bought about two years ago for around £800 and they are lovely earphones. Two days ago I aquired the FiiO FH9 for around £500. OMFG! I've tried all the tips and so far settled for the bass tips. They sound absolutely out of this world, and that is out of my mobile phone's socket. So looking forward to trying the different filters, balanced jacks, and hearing them through my new Gryphon. A seriously good buy that I couldn't believe anyone would regret, with so many options for experimenting with. I am a FiiO convertee.

Thanks for this review . I have a very good in ear Unique Melody miracle, I enjoy their sound very much and the stage is the best I heard , but I have issue on the right bud, and don t know if I can repair it in france . So perhaps I have to replace them ; so I have a question : for the more “ natural “ sound ( classic symphony, jazz , 20 th century music , baroque , funk, ethnic music ) what is your advice for a pick under 1000 € ? Thanks 😊 (I have a fiio M11 )
@TheHonestAudiophile2 жыл бұрын
The IEM I prefer for those genres under 1k are very limited as I've not heard a lot between $400 to 1k. If you don't mind used, the Meze Rai Penta and ADV-Sound M5-12D are solid options. Below 1k I recommend the ThieAudio Clairvoyance and below $400 JQ 4U Pro, Xenns Mangird Tea 2, Moondrop Blessing 2, Moondrop Kato and ThieAudio Elixir.

I love music more than anything, bass should be present but not too strong, but voices and instruments should be precisely audible. I really like to listen to classical music, chansons, folk music, Celtic, chillout/lounge, I mainly have songs in DSD/Hires format because I am a customer of Tidal. Which would be the optimal in-ear headphones? The FA9, FD11, FH11or FH9? Greetings and take care of yourselves. Monic G.

I cant spend that much money to play my music through filter plates. What I hate about phase plugs on compression drivers. might be very nooby but I have to see nice long tube openings and I look forward until they start tapering those tubes. Long long horns in vintage audio add musicality from the second harmonic distortion added.The sound you describe sounds like non linear distortion from filter plates.
@TheHonestAudiophile Жыл бұрын
It is kinda funny but most IEM that use filter plates that I've reviewed, I like the balanced filter. So why don't the mfg just release an IEM with that sound signature with a more tapered nozzle. I do prefer longer nozzles and tubes as they normally fit my ears better but not all ears are created the same so I understand.

I have all the above mentioned, FH7S is a step up from the FH7 and is more mid bass focused highly suitable for 70s 80s rock music, FH9 is is a slightly different take on the FH7S with more of a sub bass focus, both FH7S and FH9 have what I would term a "fun signature" if that makes sense.

Hopefully you'll keep this comment. You say DLC Berilium DD and many people in the comments repeated loving Berilium. Berilium is very rigit and expensive material. Single DD Berilium drivers cost fortune themselves. So, you think Fiio would charge Berilium + 6 knowles 600 dollars? You even contradict yourself by saying Berilium DLC. DLC is diamond like carbon itself a diaphragm material. Before you publish a video, please check the specs carefully.
@brsrdgn Жыл бұрын
Long story short it's a DLC DD not Berilium. I checked the specs and no mentioning of Berilium or Berilium plated fyi.
