I use my FIIO Q7 with the PL50 and expensive upgrade cables from power cable to 12V silver cable to Audioquest carbon USB cable. It sounds wonderfull! Thanks for your very good advice! (Munich, Germany)

Yep, you can do that, you can turn off its display completely if you will.

How the hell did they managed to put so much inside for that amount of money? 750? Really? That much power? It's like finding a treasure if you stream a lot. FiiO really outdid themselves here. Bit weird looking, but very compact and useful. I don't stream much, but since can do many things a lot of people will like this. Awesome project!👍

FiiO has came a long way. I still remember my Gen 1 Fiio X1 with the wheel to go through your songs but used it for years. Ended up getting the Fiio K7 for a DAC/AMP in 1 because USB DAC/Amp combo's didn't have enough output for me and the Fiio K7 has 2000mw@32ohm output meanwhile many other brands cost way more and have less power and features.

My impressions are exactly the same, just add an integrated or power amp and you can use it in a proper stereo setup.

You meant using it as a streamer + DAC + Preamp, as XLR outputs are engaging its DAC and Preamp. Sure, it will work exactly as I have explained in the video.

as an owner of a Topping D90 + A90 stack, I am looking for a replacement solution with a smaller footprint on my desktop. also, the fact that the R7 would not need a separate source (laptop/tablet etc) is something I like. all I am wondering is if it's a good switch, knowing that I am using 2 headphones currently: LCD-2 and Arya Stealth Magnet. what would you suggest?

Hi mate, R7 would be a downgrade to your D90 and A90 stack especially when it comes to control & dynamics with flagship desktop headphones.

The headphone industry is just moving too fast to be a viable option for me. Every week is a new device, new headphone, new this, new that - who can keep up with that? By contrast, I still have a receiver and cd player from 20 years ago that work like the day they were made. It’s an amazing looking device but how soon before they ask you to shell out again for R8, R9, R10?

The Bluetooth is terrible and doesn't work well with streaming movies from my iPad. Surprisingly the Q7 is perfect for streaming movies from my iPad. I don't know why the R7 fails. Anyways hopefully in a new update.

The claims about being lossless and guaranteeing master quality are a hoax!
