Langdi dholak is played by the late Ravindra Sharma of 8 miles Nasinu. Nobody could play langdi like him in those days, he invented so many new langdi taals that is being played all over the world wherever Fiji Indians are. He also played for the late Amol Kumar Dass. Such was his talent and fame that a prominent dholakia even changed his surname to Sharma so people could recognise him as someone who is related to Ravin Sharma.

Not sure how much you know about bhajan competitions in Fiji in the 70s, 80s & 90s, would you know how many competitions Dippa won under medalist division for best dholakia? As for playing for Shiu Sharan Sardar, there were many other dholakias who played on his bhajans, not only Dip Chand.

This just explains your knowledge about Fiji bhajan. BTW there was a bhajan competition held at Rishikul in 1981 for Fiji's top bhajania and dholakia, neither Sharan nor Dip Chand's name came up anywhere in the winner's list.
