I have the 900 gph version. I stacked and placed a flat paint mixing stick to offset the space between the overflow and glass instead of trimming the rim. Everything sits flush without any leaks.

Good to hear another solution that worked.

How much of th3 frame did you remove,is your water line above or below the trim?

Is it not under sized I was thinking tanks need to cycle 5-10 an hour at 300 and a 75 gallon tank that only 4 times

Instead of cutting into the trim og the aquarium, you could add an acryllic plate with matching holes. the spacer plate needs to be as thick as the trim.

how big is the hole?

Hi what tool /bit did you use to cut the trim? Could you just lower the unit a 1/4” so that is not an issue?
@jackpinebearcat18452 жыл бұрын
I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel. I wanted to be sure that the waterline was not visible below the trim. On my tank the waterline ended up 7/8" below the top of the overflow cover. If that waterline level works for you there is no reason to remove trim. I needed it to be higher.

Any issues yet with the holes being drilled so close to the edge?
@jackpinebearcat18453 жыл бұрын
Nope, no issues.

Is it noisy or loud??
@jackpinebearcat18453 жыл бұрын
No, the overflow is quiet as long as the level is kept up close to or at the top of the emergency siphon. I run it with a little flow going down the emergency and it is really quiet.

Hi I got one but did yours ever leak from the outlet?
@jackpinebearcat18454 жыл бұрын
No leaks from the overflow itself. I did have a leak from one of the drain fittings to my pvc. Had to replace and use more cement.

Hi, any particular reason to setting up on the side? Instead of the center of the tank, I’m thinking for cosmetic reasons the center will look better
@jackpinebearcat18453 жыл бұрын
My tank is set up as a peninsula/island, so I placed the overflow and plumbing in a corner to keep the rest of the tank open. No reason you couldn’t put it in the center if it works better for your setup.
