Thank you for the great video. If the brightness and contrast affect the pixel intensity, do you use them for presentation or analysis as well? I mean, if you have a Group A image and a Group B image, and if you manipulate the brightness and contrast only for the Group A image. In this case, I think the unintentional bias can affect the data. I wonder what case you usually use the brightness & Contrast enhancement. Thank you.

Brightness and contrast enhancement is a visualization tool. If you had 2 images where you wanted to show a difference in intensity for instance, you can set a certain brightness level that will be used for both images. This would provide qualitative information.

Thank you for your kind reply. You mean the brightness and contrast are used for a qualitative goal, like to show good image contrast for a publication or an article, after you are done with all of the quantitative analysis, right?@@johanna.m.dela-cruz

@@wangkukson5894 you can also use contrast enhancements for easier segmentation.

Thank you for the video! I have a question: Does changing the gamma factor alter pixel size?
@johanna.m.dela-cruz Жыл бұрын
Hi Laura. Thanks for watching. Changing gamma is a nonlinear adjustment of brightness/contrast. It does not change pixel size. It does, however, change intensity values.
