Fijians! I remember our high school coach in western kenya, showing us playback videos of fijian training and matches. We studied fijian game play like it was a compulsory subject. Mad respect for these flying juggernauts. Whenever they play, even against Kenya, I have nothing but admiration and respect for the legendary fijians.

How to play against Fijians : Accept that it will be the hardest physical battle you might have faced, accept that they will run rings around you, smash them hard (legally), be smashed hard (legally), once the final whistle blows accept these warriors as the friends of rugby that they are and spend some time with them after the game. Hard warrior athletes who will crush you on the field but who will stand by your shoulder after the game patting you on the back with a "that was a good game brother"

I just love the way they play either it be their Magical 7s or 15s , they play rugby like no other team in the world . To share the sentiments of Gregor Townsend " They are the Brazilians of World Rugby " .Unstructured , unorganised chaos mixed with a bit of razzle dazzle footy all day every day is what most fans love to see.A beautiful gift from God to the Rugby World. Thank you for entertaining us small Fiji . A big fan .Love from Sweeden P.S I hope that one day if God forbids , you will take home the William Webb Ellis trophy to your beautiful islands . Amazing pride and as if size wasn't dominant enough, well off the field just know you make problem with one well then son you will a problem on your hands because back in mid 90's that was they were all kin and they road deep. Trinity high school in Fort worth was where the vast majority went and in 2016 their offensive line weighed as much as the Washington redskins line that year look it up...if I spell this name wrong I apologize its been 25 years but I want to shout out to Satiki Puahula, and big Mamalonga..

A place like Fiji , for upcoming players , they don't have all the proper facilities and equipment compared to other countries and train in rain hail or storm , but they play rugby like its a piece of art , and the best of the best become known like the players above . Nah bro, they perform very well in 15s. Just look at their players dominating in leagues around the world. If by falling short you mean them not getting fair rulings by the reffs (like tier 1 teams do) then most definitely, they do not get that. Just ask Paddy "paid to win" O'Brien. Officials of World rugby love to demonize the Pacific teams whilst letting others off the hook.

@@rexyhouser1872 Don't paint it any other way there has been questionable administration in the Fijian (Franky B), Samoan (More so the PM, Mr Malielagaoi with 20+ years in office and 'oh I don't know where that money has gone, I am too old') ... (Tonga more so in league with the board member v player issues). Agree that players are dominating around the world but just can't consistently put it together on the international stage and sure they have been villainized for being dirty players i.e. high shots but I think it is improving.. even with the rub of the green they all need better access to their players from clubs around the world and bigger professional player pools so they can improve continuously - It would be cool if more guys who were perhaps Aussie or Kiwi born with P.I heritage chose the islands, but I'm all for you chose who best represents you.

Unfair to have a 6'5 225 fijian that can run it straight with pace, balance, skill in sevens. Let alone about 8 in a squad at least in the sevens. Most importantly is the style. When fijians run the upper half of the body is one way while the lower half is pointing another direction that can throw you off. The Secret to how Fiji Rugby players get their strength and skills. 1. Serve the Lord daily. 2. Daily chores such as farming (yaqona, dalo, sugar cane), in harsh environments- strength. 3. Afternoon touch, rugby (down) either in water or land,- skills. 4. Eating fresh food from farm, sea, river ( mai na were)- health. 5. Harsh corporal punishment- discipline. All in all this is how they become rugged and physical in the field while at the same time keeping the discipline.

@Stephen Bidgood He's referring to one of the three regions in the South Pacific, and Melanesia is one of those areas. Basically his country and Fiji are in the same cultural area since the word itself originated from Greek meaning "black skinned islands." Just letting you know if you didn't ask google yet.

Ok let me get this straight. Give Fiji an equivalent amount of financial support, infrastructure and management as the All blacks or Springboks and the Webb Ellis will definitely be in Fiji's coffer. The All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies have players playing in their country in the super 15 franchise. Fijians on the other hand are all over the world and only get together two or three months before the world cup. No wonder they can't win the cup. The presence of no foreigner in their team compared to Fijians appearing in other teams like All Blacks and Wallabies is proof of their brilliance in the game. Give them money, infrastructure and a good management, then the rugby world will see a whole new level of rugby competition. New Zealand and Australia knows about this. This is a reason why their is no Fijian or Pacific team in the super 15. They need the status quo for their fame and money.
