Thank you very much for giving a good lecture on Inode. But something mentioned in the header of inode as the "file creation time". Could you please check it once again. Because I believe Unix or Linux does not keep the timestamp regarding creation of the file. The time that is kept is atime, mtime and ctime. Please keep sharing your knowledge. Thanks and Regards, Nandu Mishra

Correct me please if I'm mistaken, but I believe there are 12 direct block pointers, the 13th will be the single indirect, 14th double indirect and 15th triple indirect

at 3:18 .. sir, you are telling, once we change the permission of file, inode number will be changed. i don't think so. Please correct me if i am wrong.
@SanjeevkumarMSnj4 жыл бұрын
No, it'll not change. When we change the permissions it'll just update the permissions field value in the inode.

What type of relationship exists between filename and i-node? Is it One to one, one to Many Or Many to One?
@ORagnar3 жыл бұрын
This is a late reply, but the answer is many to one. Many filenames to one inode.

How many Bytes can an i-Node header have ? 13 Fields , each field has how many Bytes ?
