Very clever use of RIGHT() - could also be used in Excel applications.

In my data base i have hundreds of rows in list view with scene number column/ fields.... eg. 1,2,3,4,5 etc... how do i change them all in one go to have leading zeros? so for example i need the to have 4 digits always. i assumed i would go into the calculation field and do: right ( "0000" & Field name ; 4 ) but this only works when imputing new data.... so how do i have all existing data in the field in one go?

Hi Sunny, Thanks for all the tutorials. I learn al lot from them. Why do you use four zero's in this tutorial when you want to use three digits in the end result?
@FMBeginner4 жыл бұрын
To be honest it's just pure random decision lol. You can add a "00000000000" to it and the result will still be the same.

I see that you have two online courses. Is everything in the relationship course covered in the automator course? Thanks.
@FMBeginner4 жыл бұрын
Hi Terry, "DIY Automator" intend to covers everything essential so it will be a broad range of topic (layout... script... relationship). It's kind of like a beginner introduction. "Relationship Made Easy" is laser focus on the topic of relationships, so it's going to cover more in-depth technique and subtle details about that particular topic.

Great one Sunny, but when the cumstomer ID list ( invoice ) get longer you lost the overview off it, can you make it dynamic? or make something like a video with a sequel video .
@FMBeginner4 жыл бұрын
Hey Wally, what do you mean by overview and dynamic?
@MrDiertje4 жыл бұрын
@@FMBeginner ,Hey Sunny, I mean when youre list off customers getting longer then there is no fast way to get the customer you want. Now I will try from you're preview video to combine with this one.
@MrDiertje4 жыл бұрын
I want use you're set up from sort/filter video and combine it with this video
@FMBeginner4 жыл бұрын
Usually I will set an "Active / Inactive" field to help filter out inactive customer so the list is shorter

In filemaker pro How can I show the total records according to the validity of the customer? Example: If we have one common tabl total of 40 records, the first customer adds 35 records and the second customer adds 5 records Is it possible to show to the first customer 35 records and the second customer 5 records means when the customer opens the layout it shows only his total records? Please respond with the application in the program Mohammed

You might want to consider using related record and a portal, I explained it a little more with the "Relationship Explained" video I made

I see a problem of duplicate invoice ID, if one or more invoices are deleted.
@FMBeginner4 жыл бұрын
Thats true, to counter this issue, you can also do 2 things: (1) Setup a centralised place to keep track of your current number, (2) Setup a script to reset your current number if you delete your record. But those will be much outside the scope of this beginner tutorial.

Right (“0000’ & getastext(thenumber);4). 5 seconds rather than 30 minute video.... Of course you have to verify your number is less than 10,000
@FMBeginner4 жыл бұрын
Haha yea its probably too long. But the leading zero is more like an excuse to showcase other scripting stuff.

FileMaker Beginner you did an excellent job with video, kinda jealous. 33 years of innovation and aggravation.
