My footer has two lines, my cursor will not go above the two lines in order to insert a page number. If I add a page number the footer disappears.

Difficult to suggest some solutions without seeing what you see, but I will make some assumptions. Are you able to place your cursor in the footer and press delete, or press backspace to get rid of the two lines? Another thing to try is to place your cursor in the footer and turn on "Show/hide." There may be a "return" or a command for a new line in your footer. You will be able to see this when you turn on "Show/hide." You can then delete the "return" or command for a new line.

Hi Tanishq, it would depend where you place your cursor before you want the page number to appear. Or, it could also be the option you are choosing of where to place the page number.
