Im from europe/germany and while somewhat frowned upon it was still fairly normal to drop the n word around 2008/09 especially in schools cause there weren't any black people around who could've taken offense, it's a huge cultural difference to the U.S same way how we call our superior tradesman "master" without any negative connotation. Jew jokes on the other hand are our n word for obvious reasons absolute no go even back then. Edit: hell just remembered back in 2004 it was even acceptable to address black people with it without people batting an eye, pretty crazy.

I was in highschool in 2010 in Florida, the people who used the n word the most were the black kids, the only white kids who said it, were ether good friends with the whole black group, or they were extremely racist and most likely a redneck. It also heavily depended on how you said it.

It didn't just happen, though it never should have, and it's not an excuse for him to have said it. Not defending him saying what he said, but context matters. Not defending Filian's George Floyd joke either. :/ Fair? What I'm saying is: Filian is awesome. Pewds is awesome. Both done messed up, and will always have a headline associated with them.
