Actually, the way Filipinos say/read the word duty-free, dew (from mountain dew), durable, dual, etc. something that starts with the letter d and u is pronounced the same as the British (the real English). DU (dʒu) And the word KZbin, the biggest controversy of all pronunciation between British and Americans. They sometimes fight because of that word. I say You-Chub because I'm learning British English not copied American English. I would say that Filipinos use a lot of American words but with mostly in British pronunciation.

D + Y = J in fast speech and T + Y = CH too Filipino pronunciation of English words is mostly based on how they hear it from movies, which are a combination of American and British. The accent makes it sound strong because of the first language influence.
