Here are the first 10: Los Cantantes de Manila won the GRAND PRIZE in the Arezzo International Competition in Italy. 4 Filipino choirs won GOLD in the 2024 World Choir Games held in New Zealand: the Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation, the Miriam College HS Glee Club, the Mariano Marcos State University-Nasudi Chorale and Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion Chorale. @@mariobacolodI haven’t forgotten about the Loboc Children’s Choir. All the choirs I’ve mentioned if you read my original comment all won the GRAND PRIZE in international competitions in 2024. I actually just named few of our international winners this year. If I included all the Filipino choirs that won the GRAND PRIZE since the 90’s like LCC, it would be a very long list. I might name around 300 Pinoy Choirs.

I know you've been reacting to some of the famous choirs in the Philippines and I'm glad you've been discovering more and more of these gems. Choral groups are really huge here. Aside from church choirs, choral groups start as soon as kindergarten and until college; and even as you enter the corporate scene, there would still be company choirs. My sister was a member of the Phil Madrigal Singers back in the day and their only "real" alto (you can throw a rock in the Philippines and it will land on a soprano, a tenor, a baritone, and even a bass but good luck finding an alto--also please don't throw rocks at people, they get mad).
