Horno=oven, so if its called Hinorno its oven baked, dough is masa in not sure if batter can also be called masa, im a 62 year pinoy who used to help my aunt in bikol who is a baker and a "food trades" instructress😊
@AngryKittens11 ай бұрын
Hinorno = cooked in an oven. Horno = oven in Spanish. Horno has nothing to do with Tagalog "hulma".

Actually "horno" means fireplace for cooking or oven. Hinorno means cooked in oven with firewood or coconut husk. Thanks for visiting Samar, my birthplace is on the western side, Calbayog.
@greenbubbleh2o43711 ай бұрын
agree, "hornoan" is usually a wood fired portable clay oven. but it seems they have evolved into using tin cans to cook it now.

It’s like pandecoco.Inorno is like putting the bread in an oven but instead the bread are put under a charcoal or above the charcoal. In their case, they use the coconut husk. In Northern Luzon, we use the charcoals to cook them. But in the old ways, they have a small cave and they put a lot of charcoals.
