Heyy Juicy Vloggers! I recommend you to go to Siargao Island, the surfing capital of the Philippines! I’m from Dumaguete City which is just across Siquijor Island and our city is known as the best place to retire in the Phils 😁 I wish you could come here and explore Casaroro Falls, Lake Balinsasayao, and Manjuyod Sandbar (the Maldives of the Philippines)! Lol that was a lot! Enjoy the Phils and keep safe on your journey!! Love lots 💖

meron din pala sa inyo balinsasayaw. akala ko sa palawan lang meron nun
@bamboo77146 жыл бұрын
hell yeah ... Well, balinsasayaw is a common bird. It is called swallows in English-the bird that builds it’s nest from its own saliva on cliff and cave walls, and more recently on building walls. In the Philippines, lakes that are surrounded by high cliffs and usually with a nearby cave or two, have resident flocks of balinsasayaws. These lakes usually end up being named after the high concentration of these birds.

Hello, :-) I spent a lot of time In Dumaguete as well :-) Love it there. But I have never been to Siquijor so This time I will spend The First Month of My Retirement On Siquijor Island :-) I'm thinking maybe April :-) If everything goes ok with me getting my pension :-).

@@TheJuicyVlog ..i already left messages to Mike and Nelly about Dumaguete City. Visit Silliman University, the 1st American University established in 1901, try the pastries at Sans Rival Bake shop, take a walk at the boulevard, at night or early in the morning, visit the waterfalls and yes Manjuyod Sandbar!!! Try our delicious bodbod Tanjay (sweet rice wrapped in banana leaves and dip in hot chocoloate!!! Dumaguete City was voted as one of the best place to retire in the world!!!!! I love the fact that y'all are really enjoying and loving both the country and the people. As a 17-year-old student in California, I always tell to my American friends to go to the Philippines and that they'd enjoy it. And they'd respond back saying, "Yes, indeed, the nature is very nice, and I'd really want to see it once I get out of school." I told them that not only the country that they'll enjoy but also how lovely the people are. Thanks to you guys, you showed the kindness and how interactive the Filipinos are. I can't wait to go back in the Philippines w/ my American friends and show them, not just the nature, but also how people adds up joy in the country.

Well as a Siquijorian (that's what we call ourselves in Siquijor), 1st of all there is no ghostships especially in Lazi area. It was just rumors spread out by a local TV network about it just to make it interesting. But there is no real ghost ship. As for the "mysteries" around our island, it was just a connotation made up by the Spaniards during the colonial era. When Spaniard ships came in Siquijor late sunset, there were millions of swarming fireflies flying around. Then this Spaniards thinked that they saw Siquijor island on fire. Hence the island is called "Isla Del Fuego" But no ghostships hahaha!
@jrpcreatives6 жыл бұрын
But if you want the "real deal", ask the locals there about the dancing paperdolls (paperdolls that will dance floating from the ground).

JRP Creatives you’re saying that the ghost ship caught using camera by KMJS, coast guard and local testimonies are just hype?
@jrpcreatives6 жыл бұрын
Its all hyped. Its really freaking disappointing that they just spread rumors about it. That's why locals there don't believe it. One thing that is really real is that the sea there in Lazi got very strong currents. Sometimes there are whirpools. So no boats travel in a straight course from Dumaguete port to Siquijor

Siquijor is a beautiful place. I truly believe it is mystical. I am respectfully sharing what locals told me when I visited in 2017. They said that the province is trying to rid itself of the label or image of having "witches" or even voodoo practices. Yes, there are faith healers and they claim to cure curses as well as the usual ailments. That"s why they use the term "mystical" to promote fhe province. Everyone that I've met in Siquijor are genuinely nice and happy people. But a lot of them are actually uncomfortable being asked about the witches and other supernatural stuff that has been associated with the province. Anyway, it's good to know you enjoyed Siquijor and I hope you truly got more out of your experience as the people are truly nice and their local culture is very rich and unique.

@samundoko6 жыл бұрын
@@ryanmar6380 the mysticism of Siquijor is their "brand". That is precisely what attracts tourists there. It certainly is the case for me. I just wish that people will appreciate Siquijor for other reasons and not just to "look for witches or ghost ships" because like what the locals I talked to - a fair amount of people there are uncomfortable about these long standing stories of witches and recently, the ghost ships. Tourists will always flock to beautiful destinations. More so when the locals are genuinely nice. 😊

While you're in Siquijor - know that Dumaguete City is just on the other side. I was there a couple of wks ago to visit my parents. Main places to visit are: (1) Casaroro Falls; (2) Pulang-Bato Falls; we ziplined at (3) Tierra Alta, (3) visit my alma mater Silliman University campus (a university founded by Americans in 1901) - it has an interesting pre-Hispanic Filipino museum. A bit farther out that are worth visiting are (4) Twin Lakes, (5) Manjuyod Sandbar, and (6) Apo Island. Dumaguete City is rated in top 10 of places to retire in SE Asia for expats - lots of nice places to eat (there's a yoga studio called Samyama). The Flying Fish Hostel seems to be the most popular among travelers (otherwise, I can hook you up at my parent's house for free, they have lots of extra rooms. Downside: they have bad internet connection, no hot shower). They're retired Silliman University professors.

Watch KMJS's documentary abt tayog-tayog or the ghost ships that shows up between 12-2am. Many people have seen them already but no one can explain where they came from and no ports anywhere within Siquijor nor neighbouring islands can attest to them. Btw, tay-og means to cause a sudden shake as if an earthquake (altho not as much as an earthquake). People named it like this because when they show up they make such a loud noise that the island seems to shake.
