I can understand that some foreigners may find this line ''Ordinary day in the Philippines' referring to this event a bit arrogant but it is what it is. Not everyone can belt like Katrina, Mori or Jona but we can carry a tune. It is ordinary in a sense that when you see a gathering here or an event, you'll witness this eventually. 90% or maybe more has Karaoke, that's how we love to sing. Not everyone can sing and some are out of tune but they don't care hahaha. They will sing their hearts out :)

Like here in our village, every weekends our neighbors do karaoke just to relax from a tiring and stressful weekdays. It's also their family's way to gather and enjoy. Haha.. When pandemic wasn't still exists and gatherings or celebrations were still allowed I think most village here in the Philippines during Fiestas do have Straight 10-1 Days Singing Contest. The Championship Day would be on the Fiest Day. That is not being an arrogant, we're just saying the truth. Even in different Schools and Universites here do always have singing contests. I also sing everytime I get bored. I just watch here in youtube karaoke.

Obviously that group of people in the vid have talent in singing. It's not like everyone can sing in the Philippines, we still have those that are out of tune and those that are just 'ok'. If you see people doing karaoke in the Philippines, most probably 2-3 out 10 of them are great singers.

Actually, most Filipinos CAN carry a tune. That's why we're harsh critics when it comes to singing. It just comes with the territory that Great Singers from the Philippines can COMPETE in the World...and WIN.

This is the Reason why many Filipinos find it hard to win in philippine singing contest.. because voices like this are seem normal already...so for you to win in contest you have to be more extra ordinary than this. And thats also why our famous pilipino singers,their voices are at the next level. Once they are famous singer from Philippines,.you know its one of the best singers.

I had foreign bosses who stayed in the Philippines for work and one night, they invited us over for a Karaoke night on a Friday night and there were 18 of us Pinoys who went with them. To be fair, one of our 5 bosses has a good voice. But when they heard the 18 of us sing, they were all amazed coz all of us really can carry a tune. None of us is out of tune. And our foreign bosses wondered what do Filipinos do why does it seem like singing is normal for us all? Hahaha!

Not every Filipino has a nice voice or a good singer and can carry high note.. But everyone love to sing, they love singing than basketball or other sports. In fiesta, every house will display their karaoke for their guest to sing, don't know how it starts but if there was a fiesta, birthday and reunion karaoke must always be there with beers too. My father friends would always go to our house just to sing and tagay' red horse which sometimes cause inconvenience to the neighbors. Anyway, it is true that atleast 8 out of 10 Filipinos love singing and 5 out of 10 is a good singer. Same in groups too, I have this cycle of friends when we meet up we always go to karaoke, among the 8, I was the only one who aren't good at singing but in order not to spoil the mood I will still join the fun they don't even care if i was out of the tune hahaha.. I mean we are all intoxicated and was always talking our problems, talking our first love and current relationship and even work.. I promised the best thing that Senior High did to me was meeting these group of friends from CNHS.
