Antonio Luna said that the uniforms is designed by his brother Juan Luna, a great painter, and he paid it from his own pocket. Because he believed that uniting the Philippine troops can boost their capability, but he ended up dying in the hands of his fellow countrymen.

I watched the movie and let me tell you, it wasreally intense but superb. I was super upset cos everything Luna said and what he was fighting for was actually true yet our fellow countrymen were blinded by the likes of the foreigners.

Yes all of the uniforms are historically accurate compared to other Philippine revolution movies, the blue-white striped uniform is named “rayadillo” and was used by the spanish military though was then incorporated by the hukbong katihan ng pilipinas, the red-blue uniforms were used by kawit brigade/unit, or a personal unit for president aguinaldo.

After that is "GOYO ang batang heneral" its like a Sequel not sure tho hows its called then there is a third one I forgot the title. The 3 movies' setting happen after one another, same production I believe.
@MADesigns_3 жыл бұрын
Actually before Goyo, there is a short KZbin clip called “Angelito” which is a bridge between “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo”. I heard from the directors that the third movie was supposed to be about president Manuel L. Quezon... I don’t know if they’re still going to go through with it though
@kistenreviula55263 жыл бұрын
@@MADesigns_ Idk they said if Goyo became really well known they would make a Manuel L. Quezon, the problem is their budget many of the Goyo film stages were handmade by the teams themselves due to the lack of historical places in the Philippines. So the one eating up their budget is the set up since we are not really taking care of the historical battlegrounds
@MADesigns_3 жыл бұрын
@@kistenreviula5526 Yes, I'm aware of this as well. I'm actually not sure how well "Goyo" did in theaters in the Philippines, but it'll be cool if they continued with the Manuel L Quezon movie (once it''s safe to do so since there's obviously a pandemic). I've been really enjoying these historical movies as a pinoy who grew up outside of the Philippines. I'm just curious what they would do, like if they would continue with the historical war theme with Manuel as a soldier, or if they're gonna focus on his presidency with the third movie (if it ever happens).

The US is the reason why the spanish language in the philippines faded. They want the english be use instead of spanish. Before US occupation, 🇵🇭 was a Tagalog-Spanish speaking country.

I love this movieeee!!! I watched it almost 4 times in the theater. and bought an original copy of the DVD. it was such a great movie full of symbolism and truth and how it is ultimately our own personal choices that create reality... I cried a lot too hahaha Joven by the way is spanish term for Youth. So joven, the youth that interviews and follows Heneral Luna somehow represents the Youth of the nation in general. 💕 It also shows that having foul-mouth doesn't dictate performance and heart of the person for the people. ♥️

He was so great. He was probably the greatest general to do the job of warding off American colonists and, get this, even the Americans considered him a threat and a worthy opponent. Then fellow Filipinos killed him with their own bloody selfish hands. It makes me sad as a Filipino that a great hero got to die for his country by his own countrymen.

the attire or the uniform is a bit inaccurate the red pants show the kawit brigade or the presidential guard but as a historian and reenactor the uniforms are all wrong from the ranks and by characters and how they wore it which i know the military historian who advised (pedro javier) the movie was actually disappointed as well as in goyo for putting too much liberties in doing a historical film
