FILIPINO RIVER VILLAGE - Highest Waterfalls in the Philippines (Cateel, Davao)

CATEEL REALLY IS A RIVER TOWN. SO MANY BARANGAYS AND VILLAGES ARE FOUND RIGHT ALONG THE RIVER, AND IT PROVIDES LIVELIHOOD AND FOOD FOR SO MANY PEOPLE.
This is just a little adventure video with my motor around Cateel. I first head off to to the highest waterfalls in the Philippines. With over 84 sets of falls cascading up to 1100 feet, Aliwagwag Falls is truly a natural wonder. And, it is finally reopening after almost five years of being close to the public! After stopping by, and enjoying some local food at the new eateries... I end up heading to a brgy malibago, a place I have never been. There, I meet a really wonderful river community who shows me how they catch different fish... including eels!
Just a beautiful local day out and about in Cateel, Davao Oriental. The place we have a beach home, and the place we are truly blessed to call home here in the Philippines.

I remember catching eels(anggilya)and small fishes(piit) in our dialects back in basilan,Kyle. Batang ilog back then, of course batang 90s😂. Thanks again for sharing kulas it brings back memories ,reminiscing those good old days. Amping Kyle and always powering On!Godbless you always.

Those Dawpigan(spelling?) fish look really interesting as they seem to be a type of freshwater Goby, judging by their morphology and their preferred habitat of fast-flowing rivers. The downward-pointing mouth suggest that they either scrape algae and biofilm off rocks as a food source or they use them to feed on small animals in the substrate. The Casili meanwhile is apparently called the Giant Mottled Eel in english and is a resident species that lives in freshwater but spawns in saltwater.

Eels is Palos or Igat . So a person that cannot be caught is called a Palos because he's like eel very slippery.

The eatery has fish and vegetables and a little bit of meat 🐟🐠🥩🍖🍆🥒 You had an eggplant and a fish and a pork liver and a rice 🐠🍆🍖🍚 And they mix a vinegar with dumang not damang the spider bhwahahahahaha you pronounced it wrong 🍶➡🕷❌ It is a chili powder that they put on the vinegar 🍶🌶✔➡🕷❌ And the name of the falls is pangitgan falls and pagbangawan falls 💦💦 They call it pangitgan maybe because the soil is ugly that it is muddy when it rains 🌧➡💦💦🪨🪨🪨 And you had some bitter gourd with egg 🥒🥚🍳 And they use a reddish brown rice 🍚🔴🔴🔴🟤🟤🟤 And they call it remaletes 🍚🔴🔴🔴🟤🟤🟤 It has more fiber on it better than whice rice 🍚🔴🔴🔴🟤🟤🟤✔🍚⚪⚪⚪❌ And it may take 4 hours to hike going on the falls and it is a good exercise 🏃➡💦 And you went on the hanging bridge couple in a half years ago 🌉
