My grandmother was “just” a poor “labandera” and a waitress on the side, she met my chinese immigrant grandfather who was a bus driver - both of them were very hardworking and inspiring to say the least. A few decades later, our family now owns the biggest sugarcane plantation in our province as well as one of the largest ethanol production facility in Asia. Even their pictures during tough times and the humble history of our family adorn the atrium of our headquarters and main boardroom of our plant, we are very proud of it. Never look down on people, you’d be surprised to know that the “labandera” or “bus driver” you used to mock are actually the people behind the ethanol used in your car fuel-or everyone’s car for that matter. Poor or rich, treat them equally with utmost respect and dignity.

Without a labandera, I would be forced to wash my own clothes which would be a hassle to my already busy schedule. Without a bus driver, I either have to drive all the time or hire my own which is way over my budget. In connection to what you have said, let us never look down on any type of profession. I learned it through having to start work through the grassroots labor which is very physical, despite me having a quite well-to-do family background

sometimes it's really their choice. People should need to stop looking down to people who does blue collar jobs. Every profession has a specific function in our society. For example for trycicle drivers, they help us reach our destination that is out of reach by the typical busses or trains. For maids and nannies, without them those who employed them may not able to reach progress in their careers and won't be able to provide to their family.

my lolo grew up working even when he was young mopping floors and such, then my lola grew up unable to finish studies due to hardships but then they both work hard to live comfortably by creating a footwear business.
