Ang aking asawa = more formal Ang asawa ko = more conversational We don't usually use 'aking' for 'my' in daily conversation, rather we use 'ko'. It sounds like we are reciting in school when we use 'aking asawa', aking kapatid, aking nanay. Not natural sounding at all po. Akin, iyo, kanya are better used with 'sa' or 'para sa'. ---------- Binalak vs nagbalak Object vs actor focus verb Ang asawa ko, nagbalak na magpari, buti na lang hindi natuloy. Or Binalak ng asawa ko magpari, buti na lang hindi natuloy.

Tatay is a more informal word used in chatting to other people. But in poetry, literature, and other formal cases. "Ama" is more accurate word. Ang aking AMA ay hindi kailanman nagagalit. My FATHER never gets angry.

It should be titled " 15 must know family words in TAGALOG ". Filipino is our race and Tagalog is the main language po. Salamat
@drdougjue
@drdougjue 5 жыл бұрын
The national language of the Philippines is Filipino (Pilipino before 2000). English is a co-first language. Tagalog is the Austronesian (linguistic family) part of Filipino which is the largest spoken tribal language in the world. The Tagalog tribe in the beginning occupied Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. Today Filipino is required by the education system for all Filipinos, however, many such as Cebuanos, and Ilocanos (other tribal languages) do not prefer speaking Tagalog. By the way, in other dialects Chinese is used a lot for family words. I hope this clarifies the confusion.

I forgot to say that Filipino is a composite language of Spanish, English ("Filipino style") and of course mostly Tagalog. Around Metromanila many speak Taglish which Filipino with a great amount of English) Common in Manila around the Chinese area Fukien is mixed in with Tallish.
