hey man, super weird question but could you talk about how and why you hold your pen this way ? I can not for the life of me get that grip down. I always hold the pen so close to the nib.
@Temulon3 ай бұрын
@@emailsucks28 I don't understand why you can't hold your pen anywhere you wish. Grip the pen as you usually would but not firmly. Then with your left hand pull the tip of the pen forward until your right fingers are where you'd like them to be on the pen barrel. Now you'll have your own style of grip further back along the pen and more of the nib exposed like the video. You don't need his grip, I don't think the grip is that important, it's controlling the line length and width from the middle of the pen instead of the nib. Now it's just a matter of practice until the hand gets used to the new position.

You bring up such a potent point for me. When to stop... I had a middle school art teacher who told me to stop before I thought it was done while working on a wire sculpture one day. "you've communicated your idea... now stop before over-complicating it. you can always come back later."

Those drawings look like our artist Anton Pieck he died on the eage of 92 years old !! In his Lifetime he go to places where there was stil verry old viilliges and old klassikel bildings !! He was also the creater of "de Efterling" ,a verry gentle and modest man!!!! He love to work with children,my favorite,in his younger time they look down on illustaters like him!!! But now they pay an fortune for his work in and out of the Netherlands !!!!!! Rien Poortvlieit also an Dutch artis but he painted mostly annimals and nature ,he learned everithing by himself without one lesson taking!!!!!!l His profession was also nature careteker in the wood!!!!
