I’ve never enjoyed a TCM guest more. Thelma Schoonmaker is absolutely brilliant and fascinating. A delight and pure movie knowledge. Three Academy Awards! Holy moly. Thank you Thelma. You are a goddess.

I had exactly the same reaction to this piece. She's a treasure. I love the balance between her personal investment in the subject and her encyclopedic knowledge of it.

Wonderful interview. Thank you. I love The Archers, especially I know Where I'm Going, The Red Shoes and my favorite film, Tales of Hoffmann. The first two episodes are heaven for lovers of dance. Moira Shearer was brilliant as was Leonid Massine. There are few opportunities to see these two dancers and they shine in these films.

Fantastic, thank you very much Mrs. Schoonmaker. Just this week I watched Black Narcissus and A Matter of Life and Death. Amazing that there is this connection to Scorsese.

They say movies are an escape from the real world. Escaping into the world of Powell and Pressburger is a joy and a relief in these times. Thank you Thelma and TCM.

I did not know who The Archers were until I was in my 40's. I saw Peeping Tom on cable (I think) and honestly, all I can think about right now is "why did the victims just sit there ... " but, I have meant to see Peeping Tom again. Anyway, there was something about the 1960 horror movie that always stayed with me that I eventually bought the DVDs for A Matter of Life and Death (AKA A Stairway to Heaven; and Black Narcissus (criterion edition). I suppose it's most fitting the editor of Raging Bull hooked up with Michael Powell. Raging Bull is, still, the best Martin Scorcese film. My humble opinion of course. The visuals in Raging Bull are original and stunning just like many of the Powell-Pressburger movies to this day. Thelma Schoonmaker's interview was nothing short of a riveting 20 minutes. Thanks for the background of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. Serious film fans are fortunate Powell and Pressburger met and collaborated. Martin Scorcese, certainly, agrees.

Why not love the Ealing films such as Kind Hearts and Coronets. Joan Greenwood's performance as s Sybella has to be one the best representation of femme Fatale. Ealings output should be recognized and appreciated.
