Wow! Come up with that one all on your own? Given the strictures of the Production Code at the time, most would pass in most instances. The only real hitch is the lack of non-European males in prominent positive roles.

Well, if you take it seriously, you can trace the FEMME FATAL archetype back to Eve in GENESIS. Her, the apple, Adam, temptation, downfall, etc... It's all there if you want it.

I think his interpretation of this has some merit. They were made during a time when Americans were in unrest because of the depression. These could be seen as allegories to say just that. Don't do anything too rash I know you are so easily tempted but look at how it plays out. But it could also be interpreted as a fantasy to break out and fall to this side of the tight rope being walked then. I mean to say I understand his thoughts. But as art, that's only one way to portray it, of course. What is it that you disagree with?
