So great to find a channel that delivers meaningful photo information rather than gear reviews. Thanks Rob

I love working with contrast filters on my films; I usually have a pale or deep yellow filter. I occasionally go orange and red rarely unless I want to use a film with extended red sensitivity. I'm a fan of Ortho+ with a green filter. I also like how most of my prime Nikon lenses have the 52mm filter thread, allowing for a single filter kit. Great shots of Elora!

Alternatively, a Green X1 filter can be used - it darkens blue, but also red, and gives a more natural look (for landscape and architecture). Should work quite well in autumn. And polarizers do work with B&W film, too … ;-)

Excellent video Rob and I enjoyed your photography examples at the end. With my Nikon F3, I always use the Orange filter. I was taught to use Yellow but I did and still do find it’s results little different to no filter. Perhaps please a further video on other filter colours and filter types and their uses again with examples ?

nice! What about wide angle landscape shots that are essentially cloud studies? stick with orange or go red? filter
@stillshootinginblackandwhiteАй бұрын
Honestly I would play around and try both. We're just having fun out here.

Medium yellow, give an extra half stop. Orange requires one stop only. Too much compensation minimizes the effect of the filter. Of course, these recommendations vary depending on the spectral sensitivity of the film

Thank you for all that insight. You must be using a tripod dropping Pan F like that?
@stillshootinginblackandwhiteАй бұрын
Yes for sure, I'm using a nice solid Berlebach tripod that I had when I shot 8x10.
