I was so excited to finally see some play-action on Friday night, knew this was going to be an instant film room upload. Hope you guys like this one! Enjoy the rest of your week. P&L.

Lack of play action these past several years has been really tough, I was so glad to see it used effectively. I'm curious what you think about the different 2 TE / 2 TE 2 RB sets? It seems to me there's more variance in formations and multiple looks from each formation

Kyle Allen’s check into the pa crosser was better than anything Kenny picket put on tape in two years here in Pittsburgh. Kyle Allen is our third string quarterback. I’m really excited for this year, we’ve got an actual qb room

Good decision and it paid off with a big play.

Good stuff. I thought Smith was a good fit from the start, but I wouldn't say I was 'excited', but as I see and find out about the guy, and his scheme and coaching style, with the huge focus on physicality and accountability, I definitely am becoming excited at the possibilities as the offense gels and comes together.

I believe this offense can be really explosive with the running game and the PA. If Justin Fields is QB1, this offense will be difficult to stop. Not only would you have the run game, but then the Play action off it, and then the QB runs-everything that will frustrate the hell out of a defense. The past three years, we have been so predictable that we were winning on offense just off of talent.
@Steelers_DB2 ай бұрын
Efficiency on the ground, explosive through the air. Thats what they need.

1:08 That sidearm pass to Pickens - After the catch, if Pickens had turned inside towards his blockers to utilize them instead of turning outside, he might've taken it to the house! That play was too much of a stretch for the linemen, too. It was wayyy out there.
@Steelers_DB2 ай бұрын
Think the angle of the pass dictated the turn. Fields had to thrown around someone so it was a little behind. I actually think he could’ve continued dropping to make it easier process.
@benjamincohen88202 ай бұрын
Do you think the screen game could be incorporated to counter play action guesses? Ppl know Art will run PA, and I still haven’t forgotten the way we got cooked by the Texans with their screen game.

Any time someone goes to the ground like that in line, the yellow laundry flys typically. I’m sure there was probably some acting there but Conner gotta watch his hands too.

Ugh, I hate the repetitive play callers as you eluded to at the end of the video. I get it, as it can potentially open up an explosive play off of common look and catch the defense off guard. But in my opinion, that’s wasting 4 or 5 downs for a potential surprise that also isn’t a guaranty if there’s a bad pass, a drop, or a blown block resulting in a sack. JMO
