Hi Elie, I just want to say that I think you do a great job at this. The vast majority of reaction KZbinrs I've given a chance to just sit there in silence with hardly an emotion crossing their face. The people getting mad about the way you do things are just a vocal minority. If you try to please one person someone else is gonna get mad cos they want you to do something different. You'll never please everyone so just do what comes naturally to you because that's what the majority of us are here for.

About Lance Riddick, I heard they originally wanted him for Eko, but he was busy (maybe with Fringe?); eventually they ended up being able to get him for Abaddon. RIP (?) John Locke; also, I liked how he's the only one to visit Walt just to check up on him, not to bring him back; and he kept his word to Jin and didn't try to bring Sun back. BTW, at 33:34, notice Locke's strange pose, arm out and hand in a 'finger gun' pose? I once read an analysis of it that didn't get much attention, but it was very interesting. It mentioned how in old paintings & statues, poses often meant very specific things, and this particular pose was used to portray saints (i forget all the details, this was 15-17 years ago). Given the heavy religious themes at times in the show, how Locke is the 'man of faith' and his 'resurrection,' I think the guy was right and the pose is deliberate.

Ben and Locke got teleported to exactly same spot I believe. Sahara desert in Tunisia. It's the same area where Charlotte found remains of a polar bear in Dharma Initiative collar. I think bear just walked in the desert after he got teleported there in 70s by Dharma scientists until it died of thirst. Cuz nobody met the bear there.
@davismorgan997 күн бұрын
Yeah that revelation blew my mind when I put it together. Dharma brought polar bears to the island and trained them to do simple tasks (like pushing a wheel) so they could use them to activate the frozen wheel in the chamber. They needed polar bears for the extreme cold.

Locke was like an orange to Ben. He squeezed every last drop of information out of him and then got rid of it. On the other hand, the LAPD wouldn't find it odd if a suicide took the time to clean his fingerprints off the rope, furniture, and doorknob. Unless Ben also had the same kind of "friends" in the police as he did in the justice system, like his lawyer.

I love the meeting between Jack and Locke. At this point Jack has distanced himself from Kate, he has seen his father's ghost haunting the hospital, it is clear that he is going through a bad mental moment that has him dependent on pills. After the meeting with Locke, Jack begins to take flights because he wants to crash and the news about Locke's death almost drives Jack to suicide. It's a great time to rewatch the end of season 3. The next episode is one of my personal favorites. Great reaction Elie !!

What's unfortunate is what Jack has done for all the O815 survivors yet no one is there for him off island. How could the O6 not understand what Jack was going through. Most notably Hurley and Kate. Sun and Sayid get a pass because they are out of country. What a paradox for all of them off island.

They wrote Walt off the show because he grew up too fast for the timeline. I think they had a perfect opportunity to continue with his "specialness" with the 3 tear time jump...but I appreciate John's reasoning "He's been through enough". Grew up not knowing his dad. His mom died. Step dad abandoned him. Plane crash. Gets kidnapped. Leaves island without Vincent. Has to change names/live in secret. Dad tells him that he murdered two people to save him. Dad disappears again. All within 2-3 months

Ben seemingly murdered John out of jealousy. I can only assume he didn’t want John being credited for orchestrating everyone’s return to the Island. Ben had previously implied that John was basically prophesied to be his replacement. It was pure jealousy that echoes back to Cain and Abel.

On today's episode of Ha, That's a Funny Cut: The thing about watching Lost and being very aware of Honolulu's geography means that the cuts the show makes sometimes break my brain. In this case, John escaping the shooter from the Nu'uanu cemetery (the same one John's dad was "buried" at, by the way) cuts, seemingly immediately, to an intersection in Kaka'ako about ten minutes away where the car is wrecked. It was a good edit, frankly, and they clearly did a decent job matching the lighting despite obviously having to reset at a different time to set up the second shot. But it does startle you somewhat when you know Honolulu.

As mentioned in a previous comment .. Follow the theme and it answers everything. Whatever happened, happened. Life is full of inevitables. The universe will always course correct to make them happen but what if you can make it course correct on your terms for a need, like with the case of Charlie, Alex, Boone, Shannon, libby, Eko, Locke, etc. What if Rousseau always survived alone? .. Jin simply cemented that fact What if an ancient civilization always dug the wells? ... Sawyers rope in the ground cements that fact. What if Richard always goes to see Locke? ... the compass just cements that fact. What if Locke always dies? .. Ben Linus simply cements that fact. What if you need these things to happen but not only later when it has the most impact but maybe sooner in the case of the rope in the ground? Whatever happens, still happens just on your time table. Like I said .. follow the repeated theme. It answers everything.

Just take a minute to realize that in the storyline this moment happened before the end of season 3!!! Sometimes when I think about that, I look back at season 3 and all the episodes and all the plots that where so far back to this moment and to the end of season 3! The writers were light years ahead of time! And thats why this show is so awesome!

I was thinking that about the end of season 4. the final scene of season 4 (Jack and Ben at the funeral parlour) is the same night of the final scene of season 3 (Jack and Kate at the airport) and everything else happens prior to that. A whole season passes and we only move forward in time by like an hour or two.

The introduction of time travel into a storyline unlocks a multitude of possibilities - some logical and some pure wishful thinking - and there's a very thin line between the two.
@erickenneycreative6 күн бұрын
Lost does it brilliantly. It's use of it and how its defined remains confined to the theme, which is a human truth, running across the show as established by Desmond's arc with Charlie. Not fate vs determination but determination of an inevitable fate and how it serves the greatest good not only in plot but across every main character's arc and internal conflict when embracing or not embracing who they have inevitably been molded to be in their life. The time travel doesn't break the rules of that theme ... it enforces it while also maintaining a character driven narrative where individuals have full agency over their choices especially when confronted with the question of the theme.

No spoilers - There is a theme of "you can get a new start" on the island. Kate, Charlie, Sun, Jin and especially John Locke all took advantage of this fresh start. It wasn't easy and it was still toil. Those were just the Oceanic survivors. It's sad to see them off the island - yearning for the island in a way but struggling. They each still need something - Kate needs to get Aaron to "home", Sun needs to find Jin... etc. The whole thing with Widmore and Ben - in this episode - I liked Widmore but on a level empathized with Ben's struggle to do what is best for the island - until he kills John. That hurt - but even Ben was conflicted. While it seems Ben and Charles want the best for the island - are they not the same? At this point - I'm not sure who to trust. The compass. Richard gave the compass to John. "I won't remember that we have met. Give me this compass and that will prove that we met before." John never gives Richard the compass. Instead - he jumps in with his personal question, "How do I get off the island?" This is odd for John because he was a true believer until - when? Was it being wrong about pushing the button? Was it seeing the Dharma film with Echo in "the second hatch"? Also - going back to Ben and John. Ben tried to kill John before. He shot him and left him in the Dharma mass grave from "the purge". John Locke is an intriguing character. Is he on the island for a reason? We think so but in this episode we learn John was manipulated into going on the walkabout which led him to the island. The "coming war". Widmore mentions a "war" that is going to happen. If the war hasn't happened yet - what else could happen? Widmore sent his good man Martin Keamy (lol) to capture Ben. Keamy killed Ben's adopted daughter. Ben leaves the island on a revenge mission to destroy Widmore's organization. Widmore watches the "exit" in Tunisia - out of self preservation or to work his interest in the island. Widmore sends Abadon with Locke to "protect you from whomever intends to do you harm". Essentially - 'I think Ben might try to kill you after he learns you are working with me.If the war hasn't arrived - this will do until a real one arrives. (Paraphrasing the sheriff in "No Country for Old Men") Ceaser - for a would be "non main character" - why is he and Ilana looking for records at a Dharma station? The first we saw them - they were other passengers on the Ajira flight with the Oceanic Six. So good!

So the office Caesar was in was not featured in Season 3 but it's meant to be a Dharma office on Hydra Island. You can tell from the decor. You did surmise correctly, they're on Hydra, because you can see the main island when John and Ilana are chatting. If the "pilot and some woman" took the boat, and we saw Jack, Kate and Hurley last week together, it's probably safe to assume who the "some woman" is. Which only leaves Sayid's whereabouts a mystery for now.

The continuity nightmare they must have had with the show, keeping all balls in the air. E.g. Rousseau's map had 10 islands near the main island. Yet they never noticed any when they roamed the original one. The size of the islands changes every time they talk about them. Locke never set foot on Hydra before this, I think. The Marshall's Glock turns often into a Sig-Sauer, in one shot miraculously, etc. At least now we know how Yemi's drug-filled Beechcraft 18 (a small passenger plane) that was only meant to probably fly a Nigeria-Algeria heroin drop, ended in the Pacific, 10 times its max flying capability. Or why the Black Rock was found way off its original course. But Ben's extreme action is, probably, logical, brought on by the unexpected news from John that startles him into sudden frenzy, realizing that his main target, protecting the island is compromised - following the writers' logic in planning the show. Before he hears John tell about Jin being alive, he is all for letting him live. So John causes his own demise, as was needed, too.
