Dottie gave birth to him, Nucci loved and raised him. Nucci is his mother. Paulie would never kill his ma. Despite his pain, he knows how much she loves him, and he loves her.

Dr. Schwinn was played by legendary actor Hal Holbrook. Nearly every role he played, major or minor, he knocked out of the park.

Tony Sirico's performance as Paulie has always felt cartoony to me (in an endearing way) but he really shines in this episode. I like that they gave him a bit of an arc to chew on.

Not gonna lie i started rewatching season 6 already I'm at episode 9. Had to rewatch after seeing reactions. This show just takes me back and reminds me of the crew from those days.

David Chase was raised as a Catholic. It’s all he ever says about his faith & never speaks if he still practices the faith. Assuming from his body of work he’s very curious about the soul & the afterlife. He uses symbolic meaning from many different religions in his writing... Buddhism, Catholicism, even spiritual Indian writings. S6 started with a musical montage “Seven Souls”. An Egyptian view of the afterlife. You should take the time to figure out which 7 characters in that S6 opening montage belong to the soul they were speaking of. For example... who’s the top soul... Rem?? From the camera shots in the song it’s either Vito, Janice, or Bobby. Who’s the 2nd soul... Sekem?? It’s either Eugene or his wife Deanne. The 3rd soul Khu (the Guardian Angel) was just made clear to you in Tony’s afterlife experience. Meadow is Khu... Tony’s guardian angel. She brought him back from the land of the dead. If you are ever going to understand the series & how it ends you are going to have to think more deeply about these symbolic links Chase is laying out.

Situations like Paulie’s were not unheard of back around the time Paulie would have been born, when a girl “got in trouble…” Jack Nicholson found out, as an adult, that his “older sister” was actually his mother, and his “mother” was actually his grandmother. Eric Clapton, in England, found out the same thing.

*we're all different souls (some twin souls, some split, etc) with different memories, experiences, lessons, and such from different lifetimes, which we've got to get in every lifetime, in order to grow&evolve and be the best we can be, and as much like Him as possible. But too many of you are still at the start or even before because you refuse to even start to learn and understand and do&be better...*

In most of my experiences with the US medical system as someone whose had a lot of it too between an autoimmune disease and cancer ~ its a pretty fricking accurate depiction of how many many doctors/nurses are and as for insurance its even more callous and disgusting than they could ever show! Plus Tony is someone of great wealth...imagine us unlucky folk who get taken to our local equivalent to the shows Martin luther king hospital ~ the doctors are even more burnt out and overworked there. However i will say the good ones are REALLY good when it comes to the medical staff ive interacted with whether they be like fallen angels with their kindness or are more reserved but extremely ethical and knowledgable. But they are rare and you have to seek them out at times - God in my personal experience qhen its been an emergency like when i was life flighted or got the paddles gifts you at least one doctor or nurse in the room that is that way but in cases that arent emergencies ~ I implore everyone whether they got insurance or bad insurance or whatever to go to every single hospital in 100 mile radius til you find the doctor that listens and gives a damn about you! You got to be your own advocate and the squeaky wheel gets the grease but pick your battles and be respectful to those respecting you!

meanwhile, cancer is still treated as something not self-inflicted for the most part (except if it's kids or cancer from others' smoking or something) and brainwashing people into believing chemo and radiation aren't to drain people of life and money, and there's cancer research (the only research is about how to make more money off it all), and that there's no other cures (other than surgery), when there's always been (cbd & weed, healers, etc)... it's all about profiting off you all, it's all business, no health or care.

And this is what I would call the second strike for Paulie. First he lied about the score and didn't tell them there was 3 million not 1 million and then going behind Tony's back and collecting on a deal that was already done. Those side deals don't go over well especially with the bosses. And that is after Tony gave his word to the guys mom her son wouldn't be hurt.

I see Silvio's "Asthma" as Eddie's "Asthma" in IT: he has some kind of panic disorder, like Tony, but was never properly diagnosed. On Paulie: yeah. I think he did overreact. And no, simultaneously. That kind of bombshell is generally hard, and, with Paulie being a 100% Italian made man for decades, only for him to consider the possibility that he's not "pure", because his dad wasn't his dad, and that it'll make him maybe lose that privilege (a big reason, I believe, why he only tells Tony), would only add to that torment. In my opinion, though, on the overreacting side, if I were Paulie, I'd learn to cope, and be grateful that I was still raised by an actual blood relation.

Two legendary Hip Hop artists in here in Treach from Naughty By Nature & Lord Jamar from Brand Nubian! I’m not sure I’d want a bullet anywhere just for clout, let alone my ass 😭😂 I feel so bad for Jason, his mother pleading for him is just ugh, just another civilian caught up in this mafia mess, he gets hurt all cause Paulie is mad jealous over the bond he gets to have with his mother, it’s okay though Paulie, let it all out 😭😂 The way he treats that poor, sweet old lady once he finds out she’s not his real mother is heartbreaking, fucks me up worse than what Jimmy McGill does to Irene in BCS 😩

Tony made up that bull ablut theu guy stealing money. Beacuse one tony keeps his cash in a money clip. I have never meet anyone that does dirt keep their cash in their wallet. Always in one of your front pockets. When you live in a world where you can't trust anyone, you learn early to not put money in your wallet. This way if you get your wallet picked but you'll still have your cash. And there is a money band clip that specifically got their idea from Sopranos and the guy that played Pussy is actually their celebrity face of the company.

I think David Chase goes out of his way to portray all people who work in higher up (FBI) and high stress (hospital) environments as "human", that is, realistically grumpy, bitter and cynical. It levels the playing field and puts grey areas between the good and bad guys on the show....

Weird they wrote this new Paulie storyline and only revealed his fathers 1st name... Russ. So who is this Russ bastard?? Lol Carmela & Tony know him. They met him at Carmela’s dads 75th birthday party. Russ Fegouli. The “high class” Italian guest Carmela’s mom brought to the party. He was old enough to be Paulie’s dad wasn’t he??
@liamroberts1458

Probably. He might have been 20-ish. I still doubt Dr. Fegoli is Paulie's biological old man, even though Hugh made that Governor of Maryland crack.
