A balanced offense is what Herbert needs. Harbaugh’s system will fit perfectly

Roman’s system isn’t balanced it’s run-heavy. Herbert just needs an offense that gets people open lol… that’s it. Give him more then 2 seconds and some open, stud skill players and the chargers will flourish.

@@rorytribbet6424 harbaugh said he doesn’t want Justin throwing the ball 40-50 times a game. When you’re throwing that much without a run game it’s very easy to defend. Having a balanced offense will open up receivers way more. Roman was only run heavy because of Lamar system. Watch the Roman interview with the chargers and he basically says he’s going to run a system that makes sense for the team. At the end of the day it’s what Harbaugh wants. He’s top dog

@@rorytribbet6424They will run a balanced attack probably 30 to 35 passing attempts per game and 30 rushing attempts per game.

Herbert v. Kapaernick no contest. Herbert will crush the competition in Harbaugh's system. Harbaugh's running game has been working since the 1960's the blocking principles are tried and true.

What people dont understand is Kapernick is nowhere NEAR Herbert's level! Herbert's an elite level QB! And Palmer is underrated, and Ladd McConkey is gonna kill in this system! And DJ Chark is definitely at least as good as Ted Ginn for Christs sake, hes played with some pretty bad QB's

They hired three coaches with previous pass game coordinator experience to bolster/customize a playbook. It's a Roman run game (minus half the QB read keep stuff) + an actual modern pass game. Oh and Marc Trestman as an offensive advisor. Herbert gonna be hyper efficient. The days of 700 drop backs are gone but who cares.

Power football will always resurface. Power spread, flexbone, two tight end systems...there will always be a way to run it down a team's throat.

Yesssss. run that "singleback big" package. Two WR, and a TE on both sides of the O line.

Especially now with the lighter lb’s and the 2 high safetys built like cover db’s….i just don’t see too many stout 250 lb backers anymore….and Rodney Harrison types are flat out extinct….it will be interesting to see how this works…especially late in games.⚡️

@@Dubmcbogie I think coaches remedy the tweener linebacker stuff by having road grader defensive tackles in front of them. I remember that lighter linebacker wave coming after Brian Urlacher's success. Harbaugh just won the National Championship with Michigan so I'm sure he's ready for all the trends NFL teams are doing now and if not his brother will tell him.

The Chargers will run the table. You mark my words that the Chicago Bears are going to be kicking themselves in the a$$es for passing on hiring Harbaugh TWICE now, just to have Caleb Williams stuck developing under a fcking BUM like Matt Eberflus.

I never understood the hype around Williams. No natties, played at USC (since when does USC produce good QB’s?) and he’s choked big games countless times….i mean nothing wrong with that but I just don’t see it translating to a leader in the NFL especially as a #1 overall….but what do I know

It can work and will work. It's going to be updated a bit of course, I expect it to look similar to the Ravens offense with some Niners mixed in. I can see them using McConkey a bit out of the backfield like SF uses Deebo at times. Hes got great speed and hands and runs great routes, get him in open space. Dont sleep on Brendan Rice. Especially with his dad helping him with all his workouts, hes got a chip on his shoulder for going in the 7th. I wouldn't sleep on Cornelius Johnson either, especially because he already knows the offense. I think it's going to take another year. I see the Chargers as a fringe playoff team this year and a legit SB contender next year after more team building this next offseason. Future is bright.

Herbert doesnt need an elite running attack. He just needs A running attack. He doesnt need a great offensive line. He just needs a MID offensive line. He doesn't need a great defense. He just needs something better than a historically bad one between 2020-2024. GIVE HIM MID and let him cook.

Chargers often have a lead in their games not only will Jim’s offense balance out the chargers offense making it more unpredictable but adding the run game will make it easier to chew clock and hold a lead

Great video brother! Im a Chargers fan 42 years and its insane this team has never won a chip, essentially '06--10 they shoulda got 1 at least! I think Rice is being underestimated, he'll get coached up right with his route running and Johnson from Michigan could really be underrated , but Herbert has made absolute scrubs look good so im not to worried about the offense im more concerned with the back end of the defense! The secondary is concerning!

Longtime charger fan. Well, they're not going to the SB this year. However, it does appear that Spanos has learned his lesson and if in fact he does keep his nose out of things and allow the people who know how to run an NFL team run things, then they could definitely be SB contenders in as early as 3 seasons. The team had good bones, but was sorely lacking in "infrastructure" (OL/DL+depth) and of course good management and coaching. Go Chargers!

Have things changed that much? Like 2013 is when Payton set the passing record. Just wondering. Herbert numbers without Keenan and Williams were still very good. And some of Herbert'S best throws were to guys like Jaylen Guyton and Tyron Johnston. I'm glad they're still very focused on getting him weapons, but Herbert is great at distributing the ball. I wonder if they're gonna run him more like Josh Allen. Harbaugh/Roman also utilized Luck and Alex Smith pretty well. My question is, how many 8 man boxes has Herbert seen?

It your name isn’t Kyle Shanahan it’s a mistake to approach football through the run in 2024 when you have a superstar QB. You’re systemically wasting your greatest asset, your young superstar QB’s arm. It’s just bad high level strategy.

Parham, in my opinion, is a waste of a tight end spot he is big and somewhat fast with 95% of the time stone hands.. and oh, let us not forget always hurt. I tried giving him time to change my opinion .. and he hasn't been able to. He has great size and great speed, and there haven't been any jumps or even a progression.

In short, you can run in the NFL with great success - yes. IF you can run, then you set the Def to watch out for the run, therefor making it MUCH easier to pass..... Summed it all up for you in like 5 seconds. Now take the marbles out of your mouth and try something not so obvious.

it would have been stupid to take a WR @ #5 as u need both OT and WR, if you took WR, there were really no good OT left in the draft, but WRs were more than plenty all the way into round 7 as it turns out. If you're going OT make a video like this, don't start out trying to make the guy look bad when all it does is make you look like a novice. Not to mention that OT graded out as the best OT since 1987. WRs are a dime a dozen anymore, OT, 1 every blue moon - try to use some logic when you point out that he took an OT and not a WR at #5.

System could be good…with the right pieces. Looking really thin in that aspect right now. I think it’ll be a year or two and by that time it’s most likely too late. Chargers are always gonna charger, and the NFL will move on leaving them in dust.

Balanced and physical….but to me…it’s the defensive schemes and types of players at linebacker and safety they’ll be playing against…we certainly don’t see too many jr seau…or ray Lewis size run stuffers at lb anymore…they are built differently now…some lighter guys built to cover…it will be interesting to watch how games develop….⚡️
