I dont think Jalen had a bad year last year. For much of the season he was playing very well and put the team on his back to win some games like the one against buffalo. People saw the collapse and then generalized to say Hurts had a bad year, but thats not what the film shows. The simple fact is that the scheme was super basic, a water down version of the effective but relatively simple scheme they ran the previous year. People accuse Hurts of scrambling too much and playing hero ball, but listen to Sirianni talk last year, thats what he was asking Hurts to do. Sirianni's offensive vision was all about big risk, low probability big play hunting, and turns out thats not a sustainable way to win in the NFL. Im hoping that a new compotent OC will get the team back on track. My real fear is that they will be successful and a team will poach Kellen to be a head coach, and we'll have to start the cycle over again.

Yeah Kellen is almost definitely gonna be gone after this season. If we’re successful, he’s gonna become a HC. If we’re not, there’s a possibility that they fire Nick and keep Kellen, but the offense would still have to be pretty good to justify keeping Moore and getting rid of Nick.

It's no secret Hurts had a down season but Brian Johnsons inexperience and horrible play calling exacerbated how bad it really was. It was more bad OC than bad QB.

Head coach too if the head play is bad the OC can't do much after that specifically coordinate a bad play call from the head coach after all the main play comes from the head coach

The Qb and Oc affect each other. If the play isn’t productive, qb looks bad. If the Qb is not seeing it, the Oc loses confidence and skims down the playbook. We also have no clue of the alignment adjustments the Qb should’ve made before the snap. Brian Johnson was hired pretty much the next day after he was fired so….you tell me
@_chosen_remnant

@@dealnomore failed coaches and coordinators are hired, fired, than rehired every day in the NFL. The majority of the league is literally one large melting pot of recycled failed coaches and a few winning coaches. The fact he was hired the next day says nothing of any relevance to my points. You did make a good point about us not knowing pre snap motions, possible wrong route running, and the other nuances were blind to as spectators.

When it comes to Jalen hurts and the 2023 Eagles, no one speaks about how bad the playcalling was. It was bad, like really really bad. So bad that I now have a new found appreciation for the offensive coordinator position. Yeah he deserves some of the blame but I doubt any QB could succeed under last years offense.

Jalen is proving to be a mvp threat every year. Where was he in the mvp conversation for the first 11 weeks of the season? Right there. With the turnovers and all. How many times did he have a huge drive down the stretch of games to get us to 10-1? Look at the game film. 10-1 with our coordinator struggles. So screw if he's elite or not... that's my effin qb. Eagles fans let's just shut our freakin mouths, and let our qb do him. He's a 3 year starter so far, with a all pro and two pro bowls...he a pro bowler on a "down year"(2023). Let him do him. Look at the game film."...If you watched the game film again, you'd clearly see how lucky the Eagles were getting. They got lucky against NE with that pick 6... They got lucky against MIN because recovering 2 fumbles is one thing, recovering 4 fumbles is luck (two of then were in MIN territory) and the touchback rule for fumbles into the Endzone is complete BS. They got lucky against the Bills because Gabe Davis and Josh Allen were out of sync on what would probably have been the go-ahead TD They got lucky against KC when MVS dropped what probably would have been the go-ahead TD with less than 2mins left They barely beat WAS both times they faced off. The Eagles could have easily been 5-6 or 4-7 after the first 11 games, if not for the massive mistakes made by the opponents.

Those first 10 games won were off of talent, and some luck. Scheme was horrible and didnt have a checkdown route within the playbook. Hence the reason we switch the offensive playbook on madden. Alot of them routes took too long to come together before pressure got home. I just want to see Hurts with the same OC for 3 years with Sirianni not getting involved. The season fell apart for a reason PR did a okay job with trying to hide the obvious. But all the changes within coordinators spoke volumes. We had no rhythm even the games we won.

I personally don't blame Hurts for last year. The route combinations from OC Brian Johnson were gross all season. Because of the greatness of Hurts, Goedert, Brown, & Smith...I could argue that they overcame much of the OC's incompetence with his playcalling and route combinations. That will be fixed with Kellen Moore.

@ernie1410 kellen has been super predictable every team he has been with thus far. He calls come back routes far to often and tends to neglect the running game when it should be leaned on. I wouldn't say inaccurate. I think his biggest weaknesses are his velocity, inability/unwillingness to attack the middle of the field and his tendency to play hero ball as you mentioned. I think he's a good QB, just not a volume passer which is what you want when you have the kind of firepower that we have on offense. I'd be highly disappointed if he doesn't produce a 4000+ yard & 30+ passing TD season to go along with at least an NFCCG appearance with the embarrassment of riches he has on offense and an improved defense
