I just watched the opening car hit in Atomic Blonde. I did a frame by frame and it's pretty remarkable how realistic it is. I'm guessing they must have done a mix of live action wire work and cgi, but I'm having trouble telling which part is which. Maybe you could do an analysis video of this scene.

How do i make it look realistic however through the windshield. Like as if a pov from the driver, they are driving and you hit a person up front

Thank you! Nothing over the top. We used an 8x8' scrim and 85mm lens for every shot.

For some reason the puppet tool won't work very well when i use that roto thing. I get all these kinds of weird snippet masks from the layer, like a broken mirror. I don't know how i can fix this, it's frustrating.

I tried and tried over and over again, but for some reason i keep failing. i'm pretty sure that i'm resposible for 300 views in the last few days hehehe. it's not that you are expaining it badly, your video is clear about how to do this. I just never tried AAE before. in the last 3 days i've spent at least 30 hours to make 5 secs of content and still fail hehehe. Well just one more day and then i'll give up on this program.

if you even half blink you miss it though. I've seen plenty of cars hitting people in life and you get a whole lot more visuals than 2 frames. It's barely readable at that speed.
