13:36 what a joy to watch PTA just completely shut down such an elitist question with the utmost sincerity.
@ethidian34446 жыл бұрын
It's not really an elitist question but it is a bit harshly inappropriate to be relentless about it.
@windowsmizu4164 жыл бұрын
@@ethidian3444 Obnoxious, it's still substantial so it's not necessarily pretentious I guess, but yeah, relentless and a little socially unaware.
@sammythemc4 жыл бұрын
@@windowsmizu416 I think the reporter was right to push for a substantial answer. He prefaces the question with humility, and the contradiction between Sandler's "low art" reputation and the undeniably good performance they'd just seen was definitely an elephant in that room. It's one thing to like Adam Sandler and think he's funny, but it's another to realize he'd be so good for this role. So what did PTA see in him that the rest of us didn't?
@panached14503 жыл бұрын
he was giving off such strong South Park guys vibe in that response
@dlh79893 жыл бұрын
@@sammythemc Yeah idk I think the reporter seemed pretty genuine, he phrased it pretty delicately and he's smiling when PTA just shuts him down with "I love him!" like I think he was just curious like everybody else because it did seem a completely odd fit and that was a good enough answer for him. It's not like now where we all know PTA just loves Sandler and didn't think he needed "fixing" or anything, this was the first time anybody asked him about it. There's also more appreciation now for how good Sandler can be with everything he's done since. Uncut Gems felt like a new breaking point where we may finally be done hearing "Wow Adam Sandler is actually good" like it's a fluke. I think it's officially boring to be surprised.
