I love the eye shine effect, Vin is a great actor and the eye shine amplifies every emotion he portrays, especially rage - you can really see the anger of an entire race in his face and eyes as he walks towards the lord marshal at the end of chronicles. It wouldn't be the same without it.
@Andrew-yq4vb4 жыл бұрын
His character really doesn't give a crap about his race.. it pissed him off that they converted his friend and then killed her.. only after he became lord Marshall did he decide that he wanted to find Furya. In pitch black he resented his past because he believed he was discarded by his mother, even going as far as to curse God for his bad luck.. riddick is a realist and believes in his own survival, and the survival of his hand picked group or those he deems worthy of his protection.

Eyeshine in animals is caused by a sheet of cells just behind the retina. Once light passes through the retina, some of it reflects, giving the cells a second chance to detect it. The only drawback is that night vision might be slightly blurry, depending on the gap between the retina and the reflective cells. Maybe, just maybe there will come a time when normal humans can get the 'shine' surgically.

I loved all 3 films, and both games. OMG the games were so damn good. Escape from butcher Bay, was amazing, and dark athena just carried on. I loved that you mentioned the games. The Lore of this universe is amazing too. I read the book for Chronicles of Riddick, and just so jammed packed its unreal. I mean i loved that explained that one furian was worth like a minimum of like 100 necromongers. Alpha's well it took the Lord Marshal nearly breaking his fleet and armies to take Furia, and it was a while before they could campaign after it. Butcher Bay was tough, and almost unforgiving at times. But as soon as you get that eye shine Riddick becomes a god damn specter in the game. You don't get any additional damage, or power, but being able to fight in pitch black and come from the shadows. Suddenly bullet sponge mobs can be taken out in the blink of an eye because of melee. I wish Vin would get the games remastered, or make another game.

Numbers aren’t necessarily an advantage with the right skill set. The Furyans struck me as more small group and solo fighters, an army of them would be counterproductive at best, and probably actively getting in each others way at worst. If the Lord Marshall bombed the planet into submission before landing, he may have also frightened the population into something approaching fear; making them just a tiny bit more compliant…or at least willing to hear him out before starting the shanking. It may also be that Furyia was a costly claim, and most of the veterans died of their injuries either on world or not long afterwards; leaving no one who remembered how to deal with a force of nature that just won’t stop. Think Avatar, where Aang is the last air bender and has been out of commission for so long that no one is left who knows how to handle a motivated air bender in combat. Riddick is the last combat-furyan, and no one really remembers what they are capable of. Even at an untrained baseline, he’s a problem they have to relearn the hard way…and then he upped the stakes by becoming dangerous even by his own specie’s standards.

I think it would be a little inaccurate to portray all furians like riddick. Riddick spent a lifetime on the run, surviving by any means necessary, and of course perfecting the art of murder. Definitely not all furians can say the same nor have the same experiences and so while his physical attributes may be to being an alpha furian, his talents are likely due to his own experiences

Do a video on the Dragon riders in eragon
@josephchavez14896 жыл бұрын
Yes!
@darthreaper63115 жыл бұрын
Why? Its simple: dragon chooses person to ride them as a partner. Person gains magic power as a result. They are also peacekeepers so they are exactly like the Jedi but riding dragons.
@inferiorinferno88595 жыл бұрын
@@darthreaper6311 Not that simple. How about things like the elven transformation Eragon went through? That would not have happened without his Rider biology, plus considering we have two children who are confirmed to be the sons of two different Riders inherit the gifts, so we'd also have to consider that perhaps certain families are favored. There is still room for some discussion on the Riders.

That fight scene proves that knowing and giving a damn that you have a knife stuck in your back helps you win a fight. In short survival instincts are worth having.

OK I've never seen the chronicles of Riddick and I was going to watch it last night (but I didn't). Should I watch the film first or the explanation of Furyans and Eye Shine?
@filmcomicsexplained6 жыл бұрын
I'd probably watch the series before the video :)

The eye shine is the result of his Furyan Alpha physiology.

Mister B didn't he get it in butcher bay from pope Joe?
@silverbane80656 жыл бұрын
actualy, if you can watch game lets play's, might be best to start with ether a no commentary playthru of escape from butcher bay or if its available, check for a movie-like compilation of just the cutscenes (there is at least one utuber that makes those, i just cant remember their name) then you want pitch black (his first riddick movie) followed by the animated short movie 'dark fury' ( looks like the same style as the old aeon flux cartoons, every character is super thin and bendy looking lol) THEN, try for the directors cut version of chronicles of riddick, it has extra riddick goodness and helps to make things that little bit easier to understand. if the riddick-verse still is a bit blurry, ther is also a novelisation that gives other little titbids ( like previos grand marshal names, sucsessions and even a bit more about the necromongers, if i remember right. ) its a reasonably deep 'verse, i hope vin gets to make more of it

imagine they come out with a show about riddick rejoining with his people. and their war with the Necromongers. he'll get to learn about his people, their fighting style, and their plans on brining their peolpe back to glory. could see the battles being like horror style night skrimihes, maybe with some veitmanese guerilla tactiics, traps, and hanging bodies.
