His accent changes all the time. Sounds a bit Scottish in this interview, sounded welsh in another I just watched and and talks with various American accents in some others. Only a bit of an Australian accent popping up in certain words here and there now. He's talked about not liking his own voice and trying to change his accent in the past, so it's probably deliberate.

Ight I was watching twd & there's a scene where he's talking about Maggie & he's like, "We stand with her." (In reference to the small band of captive sanctuary members of course) & his voice kind of turned into like a lilt at the end of the "her" & I was like 'Oooo I love the way that sounded, this dudes gotta be suppressing an accent.' Like bruh his voice is beautiful.

He DOES sound Australian to me but if you practice many accents, you can see how all those accents can blend into one universal accent

He has no Australian accent at all. Not a hint. He says his accent is a result of travelling but considering he's lived in the USA for 6 years he should of picked up an American accent not this bizarre English/Scottish/eastern European mix he has. He sounds more eastern European now than in this video where he sounds more English. So weird. But he does do a really good American accent for his acting roles.
