Filmed 9/1/22 | TransPennine Route Upgrade E1 progress update

An annotated video on how electrification works between Church Fenton and Colton Junction is progressing.
This shows first the view from a northbound train traveling on the Down Leeds and secondly the view from a northbound train traveling on the Up Main / Normanton.
Unfortunately I did not have access to all of the bridge numbers.

This being done as the first stage so that the TPE units can leave York on electric power instead of Diesel power to increase there acceleration rate?

The line will eventually be electrified all the way from Manchester to York. TRU is done in a piecemeal approach with this being one of the first schemes.

can someone explain what AC immune signalling is please?

My understanding of it is that the faulty high voltage overhead line equipment can arc which can interfere with the wiring in signals, causing the signalling system to fail. So making the signals AC-immune stops this.

Does AC refer to Alternating current?
